What is the best defense to prevent future corrosion ?
My TM5 once cleaned revealed some corrosion which isnt bad but want to prevent future damage if possible - thanks Chris.

very best way to protect it from corrosion, is powdercaoting it
second best way is painting it silver (clear coats tend to yellow on engines)

Anode radiator cap ,watch the p.h. on your coolant system. ( It kills fish ,it also kills cooling systems ).....

Just picked both intakes up from porting shop the
TM5 has slight corrosion from years ago just want to protect if futher damage and my TR5 is mint and dont want any damage to it thanks again Chris.

Buy a P.h. meter and keep it at 7 and you wont have a problem

Dupli Color makes a nice spray paint that is gasoline resistant. Silver. I painted this intake.

Or you could buy an anodizing kit and anodize all the critical surfaces, that's how they keep aircraft parts from corroding.

Car wax(paste type) works good to protect bare aluminum if you dont want to alter its appearance with paint. It wont do much for the inside of the intake though. I think you can get corrosion inhibitor that you mix in your coolant.

A sacrificial zinc anode in place of the petcock is what I use with aluminum heads, radiator, and intake. My parts look fine but can see the anode just starting to corrode after a few thousand miles.

I was hoping someone would mention coolant with better rust prevention than antifreeze offers but I guess antifreeze will do the job if keep fresh.

Interesting I will do the same thanks
Hoss.

I was going to, but most guys don't want to pay 45 bucks a gallon for Evans coolant. I did and I'm glad I did.

Yep, you will have to shorten it, though.
Someone on Moparts recommended it to me long ago. Seems to be doing what was intended so far.

I have an aluminum radiator so I did not have to shorten it. In a stock radiator I have no clue but at least there is that option to shorten it need be. Thanks!

I read post of guys using it in old cars 20's , 30', and the said they can't use Evans because it seeps worst than anti freeze, in the motor and out.
