Mine is a 72 dart. It had a /6 now a 340 with a champion 3 core radiator. I have the new hayden clutch and it gives me a little over a 1/2 inch. I also have a motor mount swap kit not sure what brand. I hope that helps
Was wanting to know if a 6 blade 18" fan would pull enough air to cool for a future 400hp 360.

Just be careful of some of those aftermarket clutch fans. Some companies put an RPM limit on them. I realize it's not spinning as fast as the engine with the clutch and all, it just scares me to know the fan is only rated at 4,000 or so. Be on the look out.

I noticed the rpm limits. Scary The fan I ended up with doesn't fit over the clutch. Have to figure something out

I guess it all depends on your radiator. I have a quality engineered products aluminum radiator. With me test fitting the jaguar fan clutch i only have 1/2" clearance from the clutch fins to the back of the radiator. If i went with the heavy duty one it would be even closer.

I started a thread on recommendations on a shroud. I plan on fabricating mine. How far out should the fan blades be on the shroud? I am thinking about half way.

Also i was thinking 1/2" to 3/4" spacing from the blade tips to the shroud, however i dont have have anything to gage this by. Car was a slanty with no radiator in it when i got it. I doubt 67 slanty cars came with fan shrouds anyways. Anybody have a shroud that can give me an idea on what i am looking for dimension wise to build a shroud.

Blade tips half in and half out of edge of shroud. Shroud opening= fan diameter+ 10% of fan diameter. So for my 16" fan I added 1.6" to 16" and cut my hole at 17.6".

BTW slant 6 cars did have shrouds when they had A/C.

Check out my posts on the thread i started titled fan shroud questions. The pix i posted of a fiberglass shroud being made from another website are pretty cool. Gonna go that route instead of using sheet metal. Seems a lot easier, and more factory looking.

Well, to bring this back up. Has anyone swapped out the Jag fan clutch for this new piece? Results, please, if you have...

I have this clutch fan, but need a fan that will fit it. Anybody know an aftermarket or stock fan number I can use. The engine did not come with a fan setup. Running a 408 stroker magnum with l.a. timing cover.

Thanks, fabo.

I'm running a Derale #17118 (18" six blade) with the Hayden 2947. Had to massage the inside hole on the fan a bit so it would fit over the 4 tab things sticking out.

So on the base of this clutch, are the mounting holes slotted? Do they make this same clutch where the holes are just round like factory?

They install em on jags all the time, why would it be any different?
What I mean is that the 2747 Hayden is easy....The shorter one is about an inch shorter. Bolts are tough to fit in and thread, nuts over studs require smaller hands with greater dexterity than I have.
