-
If you ever need any odd/end parts fixing to part it out 1974 duster B5 /6 4.5" 7.5rear

Well, last December i bought a Plymouth Duster 1974 on Mexico City (CDMX). Imported from El Paso in 1985 the car still having a good shape, the engine is a little bit tired but sounds good. (5 of 6 cylinders give me 100 PCI, the last cylinder give 95 PCI, no smoke, no noises)

From december to march, i have changed the brake hoses (front and rear), seals from the rear shafts and the bearings, water to coolant, and wheel cylinders rear.

On all this time i was buying some parts like:

-Control arm bushings (lower and upper)
-Tie rods (4)
-One knuckle arm (i cant find the other)]
-Strut bushings
-k frame
-Engine mounts
-Transmission mount
-Tail lights lenses
-Lower and upper control arm bumpers
-Radiator

And now, finally the car is with the mechanic for an overhaul.

Some pictures for you guys.

PD.: Im having some problems to find the front drums here, 1980 rasybestos fits fine in my car?

Miguel, please sell me your Dick Poe El Paso tag!!!

The strut bumpers are late 1973 to 1976. Your rear axle is a 8 1/4". I'd love to find a link to order a set of those taillight lens for my 1976 Duster.

Anyone able to find a website to order them?

Sadly I don't speak or read Spanish. I also don't see anywhere where I can click to order.

Too excited really, thanks. i want to made a road trip but i think the car need ride some miles before do that (600 more or less) and change the oil, im right?

About oil, what kind the oil is good for the engine?

The radiator from autozone dont have the tubes to connect the oil transmission hoses, came only with a couple of screw holes.

Anyone have pictures of this unions? the mechanic want to made screw connections in a couple of tubes to solve the problem.

im explain good the situation? sorry for the non technical english

5 or 10w-30 pennzoil or valvoline as far as tranny cooler in radiator or on tranny ...lines require a brass nipple

The correct one will be threaded on both ends..to accept the threaded line ends..many people cut the ends and use nipples like those you showed

Love it...great pics miguel!! I bet yours will be that show next year..the Coronet is my favorite

I found a pair of 2bbl motorcraft carburetors to make the swap to super six. $50 dlls for both.

Bought both because I did not know which one was the right one, haha. one is BOCAR. (i think is for V6 engines)

I'm back :D. Some photos from April 18.

Don Mariano (the mechanic) gave me the car for the weekend to drive it and check it. We find some little issues in the passenger side wheel, the lower control arm is rubbing with the car body, the steering wheel is not centered and the car go to left if i drop it.

He is working on that this week.

But we take advantage of and work in the rear lights, changing lenses and painting in chrome inside of the case and black behind, only we could reuse one of the lenses gaskets, the other was too "toasted".

That´s all for now. I need ride some miles on city before the road trip to Tampico from CDMX, and...try to find the f+ckings brake drums for all the wheels. (i know, is better make the swap to disk brake but i need more time and money for that)
