A flipper/scammer gets busted

-
Watched it earlier today and learned some Specific Duster info.

Unfortunately the only true part of the story is that he probably has three people in line to buy it. And some poor kid is going to blow his hard-earned money on something that's worth half that. Because it's red and a Duster. Scammers worst enemy is a knowledgeable buyer. Good for you, for watching out for your friend.

That was funny. I am really surprised Tony didn't just go slam off on the guy.

I was waiting for the girl to start crying at any moment.
Good thing she had him there with her to keep from getting ripped off.

"There's no floor in the drivers side." -Priceless.
Sorry that ain't no $10K car.

She wasn't there to buy the car.
He just took her to distract the seller.

Random things disconnected.....like the brake valve switch.

"Partial VIN here, VIN there. Road Runner Cop. Bla Bla."
Telling things to the wrong people.
You know, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

Well I learned something new. I had no idea that was illegal. I thought as long as the vin matched the title it didnt matter. As a matter of fact I know a guy that did that. He had a 69 mustang that was very solid but didnt have a title. He bought a completely rusty basket case 69 mustang out of a junkyard that had a title and he used the vin plate and I think (dont quote me on this it's been a while) the radiator support out of the junkyard car and he had a title that matched that vin. Granted he didnt do it to flip it and sell. I'm pretty sure he still has the car. But I never knew that was illegal.
That guy changed his story so many times lol.

That will get you 15 to 20 years in a federal prison for changing vin numbers.

i would never have even gone and looked at that car. can tell right away it isn't worth anywhere near 10k.

and there is nothing wrong with a flipper. they just fund their hobby by flipping cars, they usually do a lot of work to be there first with cash for a deal. nothing most can't do but are just too lazy to do..

the scammer part is the scumbag part.. who knows what that clown actually knew about the car. one thing for sure is the thing is a **** box.

oh yea nothing legal about that.. back in the 80's though no one really paid much attention.. these days with old cars worth what they are its a lot bigger deal..

Well, duh.
People only care about this stuff when money is involved.
(Except for the "OE" crowd. He says in his OE Gold snotty voice.)
One man's saved car is another man's trash.
To coin a phrase.

Why do you see vin plates with titles for sale? Do people not know its illegal or just dont care? Or is it one of those things that get overlooked alot?

Well after seeing all this. I guess about 90percent of us better start crushing our own. Since we all have cars rebuilt from multiple vehicles..

Here is what you look for: small lie, rubs chin...big lie rubs forehead.....whopper, rubs all over head and face.....now watch and take notice!!!

If you check with your local DMV or highway patrol it's probably illegal to switch engines and trans with out doing some legal paperwork and re title.. some states are more strict than others. Start scraping boys and girls.
