Stop in for a cup of coffee

Happy Saturday from the frozen tundra, we are turning last buckets of apples into applesauce today, and remaining tomatoes into ketchup. On plus side I stopped by paint shop to gaze longingly at my Demon. All the hardware door handles etc etc was stripped off and they were actually sanding like bandits on it. They did not know I was stopping by so that was a good sign!
Awesome news on paint progress!
I also was in the garden today. But not much to salvage. Got a bag of half dead tomaters... Cut up the good parts, plus some venison and beef leftovers in the freezer. Cooked that till I could shred it. Add a couple cans of beans. Onion, garlic, etc etc. I got a nice batch of chili in the crock pot.

Since I took a video of the ‘66 running, I figured I’d do one of the SRT running and reving a little...

We were going to the winery tonight but it got cancelled because of rain. Sounds like the wifee and I will go to a local Mex. restaurant for supper and a couple of margaritas and come home and watch a movie. Suits me fine! Did I mention it's 5:00 somewhere?

That would be good.
My KYBs went on when I replaced the drivetrain and springs in 1990.
One started leaking about six years later, and that was exchanged (no charge).
I installed the Spax June 2002.
Somewhere's around then the grad school friend with the Saabs and MG told me he tried a set of the new KYBs that were supposed to be better. He was unimpressed.

The original shocks on for example the '65 Dart, where they painted semi gloss black ?

Bill

Can't help on that one Bill. I think they were, and had Chrysler lettering (part number etc) in white or yellow. Someone here may know. If not, ask in the regular forums or on Moparts restoration subforum.

Nice sound. :)
The ‘66 does sound good!

My neighbor on the other side fired up his ‘70 Chevelle SS so I had to answer by firing up the ‘66!

For about 15 minutes it was like dueling banjos with him reving the ‘70 and me answering reving the ‘66. When we both shut them down, I saw the neighbor across the street standing on his porch grinning and just shaking his head. :D

Well made good progress on the Polara today. Got almost everything hooked up and plumbed. Topped off on fluids, just need to get about 3 feet of fuel line and I’ll be ready to fire tomorrow

AND..... What happened to it Running Today ????????????????? :poke:

Yeah, it is the new place. I found out yesterday that they took on a new group of investors and they are the same investors that drove the last 2 places I worked at into the ground. Their first move was to layoff all the finance and admin people and put their own people in place.

My advantage is that they know me and like me...but that won’t stop them from slowly destroying the place as they get richer. It’s going to be a slow motion train wreck.

Like the Mavericks lots too.

When I first started driving 16 years old, dad got us as 67 vw bug was kind of lame in MN, scrape windows inside and out, poor heater and defrost. Traded up the bug right away for a 69 vw fast back, good improvement . . had that for 6 months then traded that for a 1970 Maverick 2 Door with the indestructible 200 cu in 6 in it with an automatic. Such a huge huge improvement over those VWs all the way around, felt like driving a Cadillac in comparison.

At same time got my '64 Chev 2 door Impala set up (while parents still owned the Maverick) with a 350 4spd, black interior and put in black buckets and painted it red with aluminum slots, that was a way cool project and car to run with as it was my first car. So much fun with that one.

Cool looking body style on those Mavericks, as young drivers me and my older brother ran that car pretty hard and it never let us down once.

Really Liked the that '70 Maverick . . .

Looked just like this pic below.

Nice thin bumpers . . no big energy absorbing picnic table bumpers in 1970.

One friend of ours in high school had a 71 VW Super Beetle... Don't call it a Beetle, or he would correct you that it was a Super Beetle... We used to ride home with him freshman year as it was cooler than taking the bus....

However it wasn't so cool when it stalled on the main street in our neighborhood and the bus passed by us while we were pushing it... :BangHead: :BangHead:

Another friend of ours had a Maverick Grabber with a 302, but it just sat on the side of his house in the boonies... :realcrazy:
