10's on $5,000 ?

Boost has been a part of factory equipment for decades, including Mopars of the past and present. Adding boost is a complete mechanical function. Not a genie in a bottle.
So you're building a factory 10-second truck? LOL...
I don't think you're going to be able to hide behind the word Factory for very long...

Being a Mopar a body site so far the best we've seen out of you is a 13-2 so let's just start working in the realms of reality and go forward from there..
Not hatin just sayin..
13.3 - pretty impressive for a stock 360 with stock converter and 2.94's.... I'll let you imagine how fast i could go if I actually decided to build something .. :D

word twister... I didn't say it came factory with boost, I said boost has been a part of factory production vehicles for ever.... including our mopars.

and I agree with you but what does that have to do with the price of tea in China and making that big truck do tens?..

If I go boost it will have everything to do with it going 10's :D

and... keep in mind, with boost you always have your power.... you won't get caught with a bottle and no genie
Actually I find that the great part about it. My car already has way more than enough power for the street and to blow your doors any day of the week... As a matter of fact I don't even have to use it at the track... If I get it put in it will be there when I want it though... And it will always be in my car at the ready...

it's not about your car or beating you. If it was, you'd already been smok'd. Now, go install the genie … LOL

Kind of like backing away from the 10s after buying a two ton truck to go race in.
I wasn't aware that I backed away...??? :realcrazy: Who said I'd have got there for sure with a Diplomat??? :realcrazy: I did say the truck makes it much more difficult. Incase you missed it in the title (means you like to quote the title), there is a question mark AFTER "10's for 5k" ?

Like it's going to run 12.8s

Yes this is the dreamers thread dont mess it up with reality.

I have seen any haters just a few guys that talk reality and aren't blowing smoke.

What's the name of this thread?

If your vehicle runs on bs you has it made, .

Here, why don't you read some of your own lip service of the last 24 hrs  LOL

Looks like we (me, son, son-in-law) are going to make an attempt on this. Buy and build a car to go 10's on throttle on a 5,000 dollar budget (even a 10.99). Street car I might add. Sorry, it won't be an A-body because of pricing. Most likely will be a 4 door. Already bought some pieces. The journey should be a blast either way

10’s on throttle means NA. Hint hint.

yes, that is what it means. I guess in my head when I typed that, I was thinking bottle. I knew it would be thrown out there right away and it was... LOL. Right now, I'd say 440 will be the build motor. We'll see. 318 on boost doesn't offend me at all, though.

Taking someone's advice. Back 50 years ago, I married Herschel's daughter, that made him my father- in- law. He told me he would offer his advice, but never try to tell me what to do.
He held to that, never got butt hurt when I did not take his advise. I still miss that man.

Since you're committed to the pickup, I'd follow the path early hot rodders and strip off the bed and the cab. Sounds like they're pretty rusty anyway and you won't have to fix it. Sell it and you can invest back into your project. By the time you're done gutting it, it won't be worth much anyway. Getting rid of it ahead of time, you'll be ahead.

Make you up an aluminum floor, and a steel rollcage, and mount up just the bare necessities to make it run and drive safely. You're 318 might be enough, but a big block would be better. Put on a set of slicks and a semi aerodynamic body, and end up with something like this:

Instead of Model T based, it'd be truck based.

Make it into a leaf spring dragster??? LOL :D

If your vehicle runs on bs you have it made, your last post is like a politician or an 8 year old. Go back and read ALL your posts in this thread.
I'm sorry your words are very much like my 8 year old grandsons in an argument.

He is captain obvious allso.
He's all over the place I'm going to do this but I might not do that but I want to do this and it's going to run 10 seconds and my car would have beat yours a long time ago but it still hasn't done anything better than the 13.2 blah blah blah...

ummm... ton of people asking what my plans are, and posting a ton of suggestions. What am I supposed to do, tell them all to suck lemons? LOL. Naw, it's pass time conversation, and I'm going to build it my way, you know that. Goal is the same, but the fun and excitement (with the kids I mean) won't be replaced no matter what it ends up running... Just today my daughter stopped by and we talked about it, she's eager to help. :)
