Where to go next? Low 11's high 10's??

It's okay most people are scared of what they don't know about....:D..
Ah phooey! Nitrous is for Mustang guys with pipes dumped out in the front fenders who have no clue how to put together an engine that makes real power! Any schlub can slap a kit on and viola! Why a Mopar guy would resort to “me too-ism” is beyond me...... nitrous pffft!

How did you know I had a nitrous Mustang.

Well there you go and open your mouth and remove all doubt... "Slap a kit".. was your giveaway that you don't have an idea of what you're talking about.....

Most likely be an LS too

No, no idea. Yup. You got me. Sorry man, Just not impressed with any car running nitrous. Never have been, never will be. Boring no matter how built the engine or complex the nitrous setup is. Do it on motor. More impressive. :icon_fU:

It's no different than any other power adder.. forcing more air&fuel into the same space...
Boring is your personal opinion and I'm not trying to change that or what Impresses you...
Maybe educate you that it's nowhere in the naborhood of "slap a kit" on it...
Mindsets like that generally end up as a catastrophic YouTube video...
...

“Come On Man!” Hello sarcasm! But back to the OP looking for Opinions on going from 11.9 to 10. 9 or so in th 1/4. One can get there by doing some motor/drivetrain changes or instead just resort to slapping a 150 HP kit on it!

It's OK to be skeerd....... Power adders aren't for everyone.....

Your right. Gap those rings and slap 300 on it. He will go right on past that 10.9 mark..... Jpar knows the deal lol...

There you go with the “slap a kit”! Does sound simple I have to say!

This will get him there..... Might even get a 3 digit ticket.....

To each his own but you ain't the first one to hate laughing gas lol. Certainly won't be the last either...

that's easy on a Chevy, parts are a dime a dozen, blow it up get more parts brand new. That nitrous part isnt, I don't understand it & for my build I don't believe mopar big blocks hold up very long with that "SLAPPED ON" kit lol. See thru block is a **** outta luck scenario

Jpar knows the deal lol...

Mmmmmm....... does he really though?

I’m not sure I would consider blasting NOS through the purge valve for a photo op as “knowing the deal”.

Maybe I just missed the post where he ran his car through the gears hard with his finger on the button.

He talks a good nitrous game...... but so far...... no ET’s to back up the talk.

I ran up to a 250 shot cheater kit on my stock '71 340 motor with no issues and also on my original 440-6 motor up to a 175 Big Shot kit with external oiling, no probs at all with forged pistons and a good fuel system for the NOS, I windowed a so called pro built s/roller 440 NA motor I bought that had an internal oiling system on it though, all I got out of that were the heads/cam and rockers, took me over a year to pay that off.

I just switched out my stock stroke 360 for a stroker.
Before doing so, it ran a best of 11.20’s at 3310 with me in it. All steel 69 dart with flat hood.eddie heads
It ran 12.20’s with an 8 inch 4500 vert, 750, M1 single plane, virtually same cam you have, 4.10 gear, low compression bone stock 360 shortblock with just replacement stock style pistons, initially.
Here is exactly what i did to spice it up.... 950 carb, airgap intake, 260/264, 565/565 Howards solid, milled the eddie heads about 35 thou to raise compression a bit, ran 028 MR Gasket head gaskets.... Had a local guy “ port” my stock eddies.... have since found out they were virtually little better than stock. Car went from 109 to almost 119 with just the above changes, nothing else. Picked up exactly a full second, with pretty much stock eddies.

I don't set myself up for disappointment..
While it's common knowledge that I haven't hit the button and I think it's kind of funny myself it's not like I won't. I don't know if you know this but we're having kind of a crazy year. I haven't been able to get to the track and I'm certainly not a little kid who's going to use nitrous out on the street. Especially when the car already has enough horsepower to get me put in jail without it... After putting a full interior in it, it's smaller cam, smaller rear end gears, and air conditioning I'm not really considering this the car that I need to get some kind of special ET in.,.
I did it more so for the learning process and what I learned was if you go and slap a kid on it, again you're likely to end up in a catastrophic YouTube video...
What do you know about nitrous?...

Anyways I agree to get back to the ops question.. he's already stated that a power adder isn't aligning with his class rules... I agree with 318 will run... Open up the heads add more Cam and a better torque converter... Also anything he can do to lighten the car. I've gotten 50 lb out of each door...

Thank you for that.

What do you know about nitrous?..

Well...... one thing I know about it is....... the car doesn’t go any faster with it...... until you push the button.

So, what I see is your repeated wholehearted endorsement of its use...... while you have yet to actually use it yourself.

LOL.. well I agree with you and think it's funny myself do you honestly believe it's not going to work?..
I guess if we're just going to continue with the derailment I might as well keep biting on this...

Love watching people argue with Dwayne.
They invariably end up running off the road and hitting a tree... lol
the only thing he's pointing out is what I've well admitted that I haven't used it yet because I haven't been to the track....
But he hasn't admitted as he doesn't know anything about it... I'm not arguing I'm agreeing with him and also think it's funny...

I’m hovering in the 11.8’s @110-112 with my deal atm and only wish to get as close to 11.6’s as I can with some more tweaking and suspension tuning, try out that modded M1 sp just to see if I can do it. But I’ve also got TF heads, a 255@.050”/.604” lift solid cam, thin head gaskets for a little more compression and a looser converter all ready to slap on. I’m thinking if I slap all that on now I’ll just blow right on through 11.6 past the 11.49 roll bar requirement threshold down to the low 11’s. Really no idea where I’ll end up when I do all that actually but seems possible to drop close to a second in the 1/4.

I've never seen a roll bar in a van.. I'd like to know how that all sets up...
Or should I say slap a roll bar in there and get it over with LOL...
Should be a lot easier to slap one in a van then slap one in and a body Mopar..

That is my concern with doing the changes I have planned and having to run a bar of some sort afterwards. No idea what would be acceptable at a bigger track: 6-point or 8-point or? But it won’t be slapped in that’s for sure! Hell, I ain’t worried about rolling it, it’s the frontal impact that’ll do me in. Then they can just slap my *** in the ground:rofl:
