Stop in for a cup of coffee

With what I do it is seriously hard to keep stuff where I know where it is. Loft is pretty much at capacity now. I still have not found a decent size bin of later RB dist. cores. I have no Idea where they are! And it is not a small item either! Man I wish I had a blank shop to put in what I know use on a daily basis. Craig,, seriously think it out what you are going to do with it. Is it going to be a trophy shop that work is done in on ocassion? Or a place used daily? Makes a ton of difference. SAlso think through what tools you wish you had working on the Cuda recently and start form there. My min except for storage is a parts washer, drill press, welders, bigger compressor than what I have now, a better blast cabinet, a slop sink with water. There is always more but that's my minimum for what I do.

Good Morning folks, short work day today. Property management doing the annual walkthrough of this dump. Then off to UPS to ship package to Leanna. May even look for the courage to start cutting this hood. Going to be a beautiful weekend so I’ll need to get a cruise in also.

Measure twice, cut once lol!

Agree, everything takes up a footprint almost. I want a drill press but don't think I'll get a floor model, bearing press, table saws, work tables etc. already taking up enough floor, will likely get a bench top and deal with a little less real estate on bench or more likely it will live on my roll around.

Unless of course you go to the strip to drag race! Depending on your class you may need a bit more thread! Clearly it does not sound like a drag car build, just sayin....
It’s a do everything car. Haha. No, even if these would have fitted perfectly, I’d have to run longer studs. I took care of that on the Dana 60 but not the front. That’s the next mission to solve

I have a table top cheapo I need a floor model for sure to run that burnishing tool I use. I need around a 20" working height to use it. Hey another thing I just thought of is a solid bench for a vice, and a bench grinder is also a must.

That’s one reason I have a rental unit full of my bigger stuff right now as I wait for the go ahead to build my shop. Which keeps getting bigger as I save for it haha

That heavy duty work bench is a must have

Craig before you do anything get a drawing to scale of the shop floor and add what you will want and where. Makes a huge difference even if you dont have it all now.

Mark,

Tape string from fender to fender fore and aft of the tunnel ram. Then do the same front to back on each side of the tunnel ram. Then you have a grid work. Transfer those measurements onto the hood. This is easiest when intake is just set in place for mock up. Intake can then be taken off, lay hood on and use the grid work. Just remember the opening will likely need to be trimmed out front a few times to clear the scoop/stacks as the hood opens on an arc.

My grinder and wire wheel buffer need to be on a stand.maybe a good project for this weekend. I have a way overbuilt stand, think it could hold up a house. That should work. Will have to sacrifice some shelving though.

Oh man I have a guy on another site I am trying to help out first he wants a rebuilt for a beater truck for a few years and havs a couple of core he would trade for some $ off, ok I get it. Then say I have a good one that is a core to me just for the cores to me and the ride of it to him. Wants to meet in a week since he will be in PA in a week. No sweat right? Well he is going to be two hours away and does not get why I wont do it just ship it all you will be out $30 tops. Wont do it and cant get why I wont meet him. WTF is wrong with people?????

Make a list. Just like a project car. Wants and needs. Gives you a direction, and organizes your thoughts. I have a whiteboard, and different coloured markers. I may get another for customer appointments.
