Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good Morning All! Dropping my work truck off at our vendor mechanic for winch install, will pick up Monday. Then getting my Covid shot so I'm sure to be nice and sore/sick when the excavator gets here this afternoon lol!

One old guy in the new neighborhood is Bud. Bud has the biggest house and garage. He was a six car garage that has run out of room. He recently had a double lift put in and has two cars up and two underneath. He only buys American cars late 50's through early 70's all makes and models. He has rebuilt all the cars he has. In the garage he has a single lift and always tinkering on a car. He buys a project takes it completely apart and puts it back together. It usually takes him a couple years to rebuild a car, working on it three to four hours a day, Monday-Friday. He keeps a daily log on each car as it's being restored. He has a page for any person or company he calls regarding the car. He keeps track to the penny what he spends on parts or supplies for the car (I wouldn't want to know). He doesn't paint them so sends that out. He doesn't rebuild the engine if needed. He has a complete garage with everything he needs. A super nice guy.

Morning!
My son bought a toro 10 foot front mount mower. $1700 used and a differential for $3500. He now has an 85 hp mower worth 7 grand. Mows his 4 acres with a bunch of trees in a couple hours.
He mowed about 8 acres here in 3 hours. That thing rocks!

grasshopper is a very durable mower, blades are heavy duty and changing them is a snap. Comes with quite a price tag though.

I know a guy that has a shop servicing lawnmowers. I think I'll give him a call and see what his opinion is.

My co-worker swears by (not at) his Toro. Think there might be an advantage to the drive system over the hydrostatic of my JD. Don't know that there's much I can do for my drivetrain once it starts burning up, hope it don't!

Sounds like Bud is the guy to know!
Oh he is. A really rich guy who if you met at a car show would never know it. So friendly and down to earth. We were out driving through the new neighborhood last weekend and saw him walking from the garage to the house. We stopped in and of course he had to take us to the shop to see what he's working on. He is an engineer by trade and ran a couple quarries where the owner paid him BIG bucks to do. He told me if I don't want to drive over around the lake I could just tie my boat up at his dock...Bud I don't own a boat, nor do I have a lakeside house, so no boat...haha!!

Wow, bunch of smart and knowledgeable chatty Kathies...in here this morning
A four post is much more stable and they have great ne attachments they didn't 15 years ago, may go to one my self.
Floor heat is the number one thing to use for a working and busy shop I believe and its not to bad to install yourself, straight forward with the new kits they have now.
Good morning coffee crew .
