Saw this build on youtube. Looked like it was in either Pakistan or India, the concept and execution was brilliant. I think their electrical is a bit wonky compared to US. I cant figure out how to post the video, but it was a rectangle li e frame with about a 3 foot diameter steel flywheel on it. It had a 230V 3KW electric motor on it with a pulley and V belt driving the flywheel. Off the common flywheel shaft was a 230V 12KW electrical generator. Once the builder of this got it up to speed, he unplugged the motor from the power supply, he plugged it right into the generator output. This thing continued to run. He ran an electric cutoff wheel with it. And a wire welder I guess once you get the flywheel up to speed and the generator is outputting at full capacity it could run the motor and everything was self sustaining.
