I’m looking at a stroker 408 kit with a beastly comp cam.
Set up:
10 to 1 cr to use 93 octane yes, I know will lose hp
Cam, custom ground 312/597 322/ 588 @.050 solid roller, roller rockers
All forged
M1 or similar intake
850 tweaked thermoquad
MP distributor
MSD 7al2 ignition
150 shot of gas
Most importantly trick flow heads
What I really want to know is the estimated sweet spot/pull hard range??

The heads will dictate a lot here. You made no mention of them.

This cam, it’s duration @ .050 is 312/322?
What style cam, solid? Roller? Etc.....
Do you have the cam part number or cam card?

My bad advertised.
Cam card sent pics unreadable
Cam no 20-000-11 but all I could find out about is that the 000 in the middle denotes custom grind

Still looking for some better camshaft information.

I’m gonna guess, and it’s a WAG at best, the cam is probably around [email protected] and this engine has the potential to be 530-570 with a power peak near 6300ish. Needs to be screwed together pretty good and spun up tight.

If you can’t get accurate cam info from the builder, find another builder.

That’s great but this an already purchased package deal
I don’t understand the reply.
I’m not tying to be a dickhead here but your coming off as ether you don’t know or just being rude.
The lack of accurate information doesn’t help anyone “Guess” the hp level.

Have fun... I’m out... best of luck....

What I’m saying is that 1, I absolutely don’t now. 2. I have to figure out how to achieve maximum results with what I’m getting once I pull the trigger there’s no going back. I profusely apologize if I came off as rude I am very easygoing and highly respectful of someone like yourself that is a problem solver and has a great deal of knowledge. I most definitely highly value your opinion and would hate to lose it.
Thank you sir

It always seems that you are working on something... Flamethrowers, shaving pistons, 360 builds, this 408...
What car is it and can I have a ride when you are done???????:steering:

70 Dodge Dart Cragar SS period correct wheels
Absitively posolutely, I trying to make the car 1 in a thousand. I have spent and inordinate amount of time researching and swiping ideas from others and coming up with my own stuff. I want people that see my car to say that is extremely cool and absolutely bitching. Lol
I will be going to area meets and some national mostly mopar events, maybe we can meet
The truth is I’m retired now and need something 24/7 to keep busy. I read where guys who had highly productive jobs that did diddly after retirement
Lasted 5-7 years. Any it’s tremendous fun and I’ve met some great people.
Especially Roy/ aka SGBARRACUDA
Btw, I’ve figured out a flamethrower and how to produce 6 ft flames in four colors. measure potassium used in water softeners will be purple. Picture in your mind a hemi orange dart with lots if chrome shooting 6 ft purple flames !!
Also figured
out orange, blue, green all colors will be controlled at the dash through a series of valves. With the ability to mix 4 different there are 56 possibilities of colors, woohoo !!

I’ve estimated 550 hp
What about the pull hard range??
I don't know much, but my guess is that cam is going to be happiest above 4000rpm. I don't think that is going to result in a lot of low end grunt and your going to want a pretty high stall converter. Dedicated race car?

Agree I’m hoping the nitrous will help low end grunt. I have heard of it referred to as torque in a bottle. Converter, I have a buddy that said I could “borrow” a 4000 converter. You know how that goes. LOL

OK to help clear things up, based on that last convoluted post your cam is 260/266 @ .050”. Seems like it’s a little small for a solid roller. Your motor should make 550 hp pretty easily if everything is optimized. How do you figure nitrous will help low end grunt?

What converter and what rear gear are you using?

That cam would, in a perfect world want a little more compression. You’re going to give up some torque, but with 408 cubes and a properly matched converter (5000rpm would be where I’d start) you likely won’t notice it. I hope you’re a thermoquad guru cause you’ll need to be to tune this thing. I’d put a Holley 950 on it.

Nitrous, it’s something I read. Never saw a dyno graph
I have a 3500 converter and can borrow a 4000. I’m guessing at 550 hp I will get the full advertised stall speed
I have 3.91 on a short tire that calculate out to a 4.30. The duration is probably more but as I said he was in a hurry and it’s all Greek to me
