A good buddy of mine passed away a couple of years ago and his wife keeps in touch. She has a very nice 340 Demon that she takes to the track on test n tune nights. She’s around in the 68-69 age area I guess so I give her credit for still out having fun. I try to help her some from home but haven’t been to the track so it’s all texting support. Here’s her first time slip from tonight. The engine had minor mods many years ago and I have zero idea what they were. She drives it weekly around town and to the track on radials. How’s this slip look to you guys. I’ll try to get a shift (727) rpm out of her.

Looks just about right to me from memory. My 70 superbee 383 ran about the same, low 14's at about 95-97 with a stock convertor and 4.10. Don't remember the 60 was slow with the vac secondaries and we didn't have all these "other" times on our slips back then, lol

Teach her how to get out of the gate and get her reacton time down. She would then be in the 13s with no changes to the car.

I dug around for some of my older time slips when I had a 318 but don't see them. I want to say I was only pulling 92 or 93 running 14.10. She have ET streets on it? Or just street normal radial tires?

Every muscle car guy on the planet buys those rock hard radial T/A's and 14.00 Is pushing it on even a sticky track.

With a mild 408, I went deep into the 12's with the ET streets.

looks pretty good, there's probably a tenth or 2 in the 60.
she's not off by much.

Chase is the race, are you ready for her to put you on the trailer.

From the “How To Hook And Launch” book:

Not the be all end all book but I rely on it for what I do and has served me well at my level of track experience. All my times are damn close to almost spot on (except for mph, due to aero)

I was just looking for something like this. Is there a second part of the sheet? (faster). Thanks.

First of all what a cream puff that's a great looking Demon! 340 shine in the 8th in that kind of trim so getting out of the hole is huge. someone mentioned that their stroker was in the 12s on the same tire but strokers shine on the big end of the track. You never mentioned the gear ratio, I think there's a second that could be shaved off with converter tires and depending on the gear ratio but all in all not bad.

First off let me say I hate texting and the time involved in doing it. And if I don’t remind her she blows up my phone. I sent a text asking for as much info as she can give me starting with rear gear up to what carb. We started this with a few outings last year. She just texted me a “we did it text” I will let you guys know soon.

For now she’s just a test n tuner. I’m trying to get her more interested in staging temperatures, shift rpm, etc.

1.93 sixty foot. I’m not sure if that is fair to terrible for a low 14 second street car.
WHOAAAAA.... HOSSE.... Ok, this is JUST what happens when DRag, Bracket racer car guys look at the ET slip (not u, PBR). True STREET CARS will NOT run what a drag car will run at the mph posted. Not unless it's totally tweeked to hook like a drag car, has the stall of a drag car, and has the gears of a drag car. That being said, those mph notes are for guys with slicks, 4.56 gears, and 4200 stall. Street cars usually don't 60 ft as hard as a pure drag car, therefore will not turn the time as posted on the MPH vs ET charts. That being said, her ET says her MPH is a little soft on the big end for the 1/8 mile mph. That car should gain a solid 20 mph the last 1/8. I'd say she is pretty close for a street car on radials.

And then u posted her 13 second pass but at 97 mph instead of the 95. Cool for her!! ANd, she gained her 20 mph I just talked about in the post above :)
