Stop in for a cup of coffee

It's not easy is it. I heard my wife talking to her mom last night about the will, the farms, and equipment. Something I don't want to get in the middle of unless I am asked for my opinion. You have to deal with it because you are a beneficiary. It's never fun.
Actually I’m not a beneficiary. I am only the “executive assistant to the personal estate representative” aka co-executive.

Technically it’s now owned by my parents but it operating between me and two brothers.

Some of the equipment was purchased when we took it over last year. Some wasn’t and then my grandfather went and bought even more equipment, but under his name. There’s also some debts that the estate has to pay and this is the only way to raise those funds. We could have directly purchased these things from the estate and avoided an auction but extended family greed put a stop to that.
At least you guys didn't have an evil second wife to deal with. Luckily Mae's dad gave some things away after their mom died -before he remarried. Cause EVERYTHING that was left without a title in his name only, she stole or sold . His truck and property were about all that was left to be sold by the estate. Looks like there won't be an appeal, so might actually be getting divided and paid out soon. Won't be much though.

The ugly can come out between siblings for sure. In my wife's case, today they don't want to sell the family farm but bro-in law will only farm it for 10 more years and then retire. Then it will be sold and divided or shares bought out and rented.

Sad reality these days.
My suggestion to anyone, Trusts and LLCs along with pin point wills.

Wow

I'm just glad Mae backed out of being executor. She was POA and that was a lot of BS. Got it changed when he moved to Florida with them shortly before he passed. Ev en when paid out, this will never be over for at least one of her brothers. Has already talked about suing the estate lawyer...

I fear the same happening here

Estates suck. My dad had his all in order so it was easy. Now my sister died around 5 years ago and just found out last year because her husband died and somehow thje police notified my cousin in VA! WTF right? Told my brother to go and do what he has to to administer the estate, you live 10 miles away, just me and him left. Wont even try to do it. I am just to far to deal with it. State will take it. Sucks she had all the family pictures I wanted.

Well....On a happy note... That was nice....All of the children's parents, whom I taught English, came here tonight and brought food and beer, and we sat and celebrated for a while. They all brought the kids and made them talk in English and thank me for for my time, and wished me a safe trip back to America...

Mae had most of those, cause she made up scrapbooks for all her siblings years ago. Any that he still had the evil ***** burned. They found parts of some frames in the fire pit…

Morning all, another glorious day on the eastern plains of Colorado. Need to run into town and get some parts for the travel trailer. Having the wood floors refinished, and more installed, so we need a place to live for a couple of days. (no furniture in the house)

Done another round of mowing...Little break and decide what's next from the never ending things to do. I almost said "to do list", but one of my to-do's is to make a list.

So i got the toyota sorted out, and it drives nice. Set toe with a tape, and rear camber with a bubble stick. Road test tracks nice and steering wheel is straight.

and a suzuki with a power steering leak, will fix it next week.

Wife saw the fox this morning, caught a squirrel, came up on our deck and across it then off to the back yard. It seems to be getting Less fearful of us. We werent outside, but i dont mind. She’s doing a great job keeping all the little critters in check.
