There's one running around this part of the county. Just looks your everyday Bug. A few louvers cut in the hood is barely noticeable. Get around back and see the 325X60s and the 2" exhaust and it get's your attention . We used to see one pretty regularly at OCIR. All the tin looked OE, little tiny air scoop at the base of the windshield, 427 BBC where the firewall used to be :steering:driver in the back seat. Run 10 flats all night long.
That would be great kinda like a roller skate on steroids.

And so easy to do with a VW body. :D All the body mounting points being on the same plain around the perimeter of the body :D
Taken a lot of bugs apart in my younger years and and drove the floor pans around sitting on a 5 gallon bucket.
Was fun to be young and dumb.
Cheers buddy to old times....

For Baja Bugs it was the hot setup to use the convertible floor pan. They were more rigid from the factory, although a little bit heavier.

We are back home I have to get pics but it was a tough run. He was doing great and holding his own when they got him in the middle and he took a hard left front shot that knocked his air box off and it took out his throttle cable. I got her running again and we will save it for another. I will try to get pics this weekend and post them.

Well guys all the relatives went back home yesterday so a few days of piece and quiet.
Brother in law and his wife will be here sometime next week. Love the guy he has a nice 59 Corvette and a 30 model A coupe that I grew up driving in. His dad and brother has an extensive collection of model A's and parts.

Glad you had a nice visit with your relatives Fred especially if you haven't seen them in a while. A bit of peace and quiet then the next batch comes.
My mom always said "after three days both visitors and fish start to stink". In some cases she was right lol.
All kidding aside though it's nice to have family around.
I have to fly 3500+ miles in a sardine can to visit my relatives. Hopefully next Spring.

Been a funny day really. Sun, clouds and then rain. Had a good chance to get caught up inside the house. Made some brownies and now Pigs in a Blanket for supper. Have a great evening.

Just working on my A this morning Fred
You have any experience with the modern starter drive that Snyder’s sells I converted my A to 12v Burned up two generators at $200 a piece so put an alternator on it works way gooder. But the starter hits to hard and breaking and bending the bendix spring any help would be appreciated

Still deciding on what leftovers to eat tonight but pigs in a blanket sounds good.
