Looking for recommendations for my dart, for a small body, bullet type muffler that you actually noticed a difference in after install.

I have 3.5 inch collectors, so ground clearance and real-estate are limited. Currently just have little "anti reversion" chambers bolted direct to the collectors. It's still pretty ridiculous.

Would like to quiet it down enough to drive a few miles down the road without shaking my brains out. (Or getting pulled over immediately)

Sure be nice to check things like brake bias, steering wheel centerline, etc, with more than just the pits at the drag strip at my disposal.

Putting this in the racer section because this is my bracket car, and I don't want a bunch of 2.5 inch Flowmaster recommendations. Thanks all !!!!!!!

FWIW...I went with Cherry Bomb Salute mufflers for some of your same reasons. I put the Demon on the street some and wanted to be "legal" so hung them with turndowns just ahead of the axle. They are somewhat loud but they should be on a low-mid 11 sec car! I think you car is faster than that so you probably still want it to have some "character" anyway. One of many, many options I looked at. 3 collector bolts and 1 rear hanger bolt on each side and the exhaust system is off and car is ready for the track.

Oddly enough looks like they skip from 3" right to 4" , unless I'm missing them? Thanks regardless!

Look into some Pypes. After blowing the guts out of the set of mufflers I had on before my friends recommended these. Man I love them.

Not sure if these would fit but I’m running these round versions of the stainless welded Ultraflo’s (3” pipe) Get compliments on how my van sounds often.

Has to be bullets? I run the Pypes Racepro, before that dyno max which droned BAD! Do not get the pypes violators. They are loud and sound horrible. Did 1000 miles with the racepro’s on dragweek. Still hear fine, didn’t lose my one remaining marble.

These big headers, with 3.5 collectors just don't leave me much real-estate, and they point right at the trans crossmember. I may be able to get an exhaust shop to make me some little 16 inch extensions that are an "S" bend, and can tuck them where my torsion bars used to be...but i also still have a speedo cable in it, and trans cooler under there. so just don't want to bake anything.

i had a shop bend up ( in my case 3 inch) pipe from the header flange, and then back to the Kooks mufflers like i showed you to line up on the chassis cutouts… wish i had taken some pictures…basically just pipe bends to locate the mufflers high, straight and tight.

I ran nines with a n/a small block car thru 3 1/2 hooker aero's. They had a good sound and were quiet. I used about a three foot piece of 3 1/2 pipe off same size collectors, and turndowns pointed at each other, just in front of the axle.
They are obviously NOT bullets.
If they are just to drive around for testing, and you arent gonna race with them on, maybe a pair of the longest thrush glasspacks? I dont know if they have a 3 1/2.
I bought the aeros cause they were the cheapest "real" 3 1/2 muffler i could find.

I have the Dynomax Ultra Flow on Vixen. It's not the bullet style, but it's the same guts. I really like how it sounds. It's not loud at idle, but you KNOW it's there. ZERO drone on the road and when you stand in it it gets rowdy.

I don't know Rusty, your engine is alot bigger than mine. Mine might not sound as good as Vixen! I'm just kidding :) I'm leaning this way. Only the round ones. that sounds REALLY good for a Slant!!!

i have had a bunch of different muffs on my cars over the years.
These Kooks units are the best looking and sounding ones i have ever heard.
Get lots of compliments on how the car sounds. I have these muffs on it all the time when i race it or on the street.
