I'm pulling together all the parts to install an inside hood release on my 70 Dart. I have the cable and the bracket/handle for inside the car. I believe that the latch itself must be different because the current latch operates from the opposite side (you would have to push the cable and that won't work!). So what I think I need is the latch off a 73-76 A-body and the bracket that holds the cable next to the latch (unless this is part of the latch. I believe that all 73-76 A-bodies came with an interior hood release???

The latch mechanism is different. It has an arm that the cable attaches to. I dont think it was standard on all cars, optional.

do any of the "beak" cars not have an inside hood release? All the ones I am familiar with have no outside hood release...

I have a factory 1972 340 Duster that came with it..will send pics later

I dont recall my 73 swinger having an inside hood release but I could be wrong. Its got a 72 clip on it now so no way to check. My 73 dart sport does have an inside release.

I have owned 3 @ 73 Dart Sports .
A 340 4sp , 340 A/T and a 318 S/R .
None had inside hood releases.
