Stop in for a cup of coffee

Isn’t that like wrecking your car or torching your house to collect? Or do they pay against low price? I thought it was intended for crop failure
No wonder why insurance is so high! LOL

There’s different policies. Hell, there’s even some that pay you NOT to plant. Other if you don’t get a certain yield. Or don’t get it harvested by X date etc.

There’s even government grants that pay farmers NOT to plant fields, especially those near water ways

Of course. My buddy gas his farm in set aside. He plants wildflowers and it is a haven for hunting. Pheasant and deer love it.

I’m surprised they let hunting. Our neighbor did that to his ground for ducks and pheasant and now for the next 100 years, we can’t hunt either with 1000 feet of the edge of the zone, which just so happens to be our property line. That said, we never hunted either of those two so it doesn’t matter. There’s still never any ducks. Or Pheasants on his either. He’s year 16 into it and everyone DNR release them, the coyotes move in heavy and get them

Corn all around. My buddy has 3 nice elevated deer stands and mowed paths.. It's a paradise.

The cannabis growers are offering stupid money to rent agricultural land. “Conventional “ crop growers cannot compete for leasing acreage. We have seen several instances whereas the landowner can literally pay the penalty for breaking lease, rent the land to cannabis growers and still make more than they were before. While it is hard to watch, it is in fact capitalism at its best.
So I guess when we run out of farm land for food, we'll all starve to death. Stoned.

Never mind my computer caught up with the post or the site caught up with my computer either way though...what the heck!!

We are snowed in and I got a nice cup of green tea. Dog at feet. Fireplace roaring, all good in Fargo. Tomorrow night we have our annual awards and year end banquet for Cowboy Shooting. We put on fancy go to town duds (circa 1870) and eat and drink like pirates at local hotel. I had a pretty good year this year competitively. But the year just seemed to fly by.

Congrats there Mr. State Champ!! Enjoy your evening.

Cheryl is President of the Kansas Bar Association. No, its an attorney group, not liquor distributors.
Tonight, is their big annual dinner in Kansas City at the Plaza, a fancy pants location.
It will consist of a great meal, free drinks, and boring speeches.

Thanks! Looks like I also managed to pick up Buck horn challenge title. Imagine pistol caliber lever action rifle with just buck horn sights shooting 300-400 yards. Read the wind, tip it up about 45 degrees and send it! Wait about an hour and listen for impact! Hah! We also have to use compliant Ammo so you can’t hot load pistol calibers in rifle. It is a hoot.
