Stop in for a cup of coffee

I’ve got a a small emery stone on the die grinder I polish it with. I normally use pop them in with a big C clamp, never failed me before.

My theory is that since I was doing this originally in the driveway that maybe I got a small piece of gravel or dirt in the one cap and that taking it back apart and wiping all the grease out got whatever was in there out.
A stone removes metal in my opinion. A fine flapwheel polishes. Die grinder with a stone? Tears it up a lot.

Just what my grandfather always used. It’s an old stone that barely polishes anymore. Either way. Everything is good for now.

400 to my friends. Plus shipping....
Seems fair. I’ll think on it. I kind of blew my almost my entire budget for the immediate future for car stuff buying my grandfathers truck back but I figured it was well worth it.

Finally got the stubborn U joint installed thanks to a 20 ton press. Now I can finally drive my new truck!

Looks familiar

It’s been a couple weeks. My 99 rear u joint was junk. Got it out but ran into a snag with the new one. With the situation at the farm and my garage, I was forced to do it in the gravel drive way, with a hammer and C clamp. Had trouble getting the one cap to get fully pass the snap ring, so I took it to the garage finally and popped it back apart, again, found nothing out of place, put it back together and it slid right together.

My wife got called into work for a rare time in the last 10 years. They’ve been hit hard by Covid, they have the largest number of both employees and patients out with Covid that they’ve had since this all started nearly 2 years ago. Currently all staff are vaccinated and boosted. Of the patients that are sick and positive, including some in hospital, the ratio of vaccinated to not vaccinated is approximately 45 percent to 55 percent. So the number of break through cases is extremely high.
That said, from what data they’re tracking, those vaccinated have severe symptoms such as migraines, breathing troubles dehydration etc last about 3-4 days, unvaccinated last twice as long.

The thing that is perplexing to them and the local health department is the one symptom that is the most dangerous, bacterial pneumonia, shows almost no variation between the two groups, locally. The state wide numbers disagree with that. But the surrounding counties have similar data according to them, that also disagrees with state data.

Either way, take care of yourselves, and I guess be mindful of your surroundings.

So mitch, where you lodged?
I got to Hoi An yesterday at 4am. Quarantine hotel for only three days. I had had only 4 hours of sleep since Monday morning. I went down at 6am here and woke at 10am..LOng trip and layovers and three flights to get here. I will go to Saigon on Saturday when they release me...No Worries..
