SNAFU .. Only Mopar hangin' with the Donut Derelicts this morning was a Viper
Gettin' ready to take a photo of the Mad Max Road Warrior '53 Chubbie and some clown in a hydrauliced out Impaler blocks my shot :BangHead:.

Well just got back in after clearing snow. Sheared auger shaft so had to do an impromptu repair mid driveway. As I was laying down in the drive on a super comfy bed of ice and snow with tools and hands inside snow blower repairing shaft I thought to myself. How on earth do non gearheads handle this stuff? I had enough spare parts and what have you to just repair it and get right back at it. But I read on here everyday where someone is fixing a leaf blower, chainsaw, turntable or what have you. Seriously how does the other half live? Do they just throw away broken stuff and buy new? Do they hire out all their repairs? I guess I never really thought about it.

I couldn't have fixed that nor had the parts to do it. I'd had to revert to the old snow shovel to finish.

I am very lazy and did not want to shovel so that is how I ended up laying in the snow to repair! I have seen you fix stuff, you don’t fool me! Your new shop will soon be bristling with odds and ends you won’t throw away. Of course the only way to guarantee you will need it, is to toss it, thinking I am never going to need that. Kind of like Big Ben this afternoon, he don’t need a win he wants to retire. He can just toss it to the Chiefs! Hehehehe no trolling here Pa. No none at all. Just remember the way to the dance is thru Green Bay!

Not every cam maker is equal. Hughes sure put out a lot of info. Which springs and retainers to use with their cams, for instance.

Looking at this cam (SLD FLAT TAPPET CAM 254/260 -108ºLSA, .600"/.615")
and these springs (145# @ 1.800", 375# @ 0.600" lift)
along with these retainers (adds 0.100" installed height, puts me at 1.750", then I'll cut the spring seat 0.050" to get to 1.800" closed)
and these locks (7degree 1-groove).

Now I need to find valves ...

Have asked myself that many times

A few of them used to bring that stuff to me. A few still do, but at 90/hr its a little pricey to fix a 99 dollar trimmer.

So just finished bolting in the last seat. All the spilled paint cleaned off the trim panels and i installed my trailer brake controller. Its slow going, cleaning the door panels next.

4,7L DOC. 04 Jeep. Lined up all the dark links, dots etc but the damper mark was about An inch past cover arrow. If I line up the mark to the arrow the cam sprocket are off as pictured. :wtf:

Left and right marks on cam gears, you didnt confuse, left is driver side?
I never did chains on a 4.7, but it looks like the left cam is straight up square off the head, right is hard to tell. To me, black link aside it should be correct

Figured out what happened. The mark on the crank sprocket was really light. So Stefan made a dot with a paint marker -in the wrong place! :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:. He already had that on when I got there so it was down at the bottom and I never looked that close. So, he will take it all apart again and we will probably go at it again next Sunday.
