How to ruin a classic muscle car era Mopar

-
Kinda like looking at a guy with an earring in his nose and eyelid with a body riddled with tattoo's.
It ain't cool and they look like a fool.
Only when they get older is when they realize it.
Ok, which one of you guy's has earrings in both ears, nose and eyelids, purple or blue hair ?

Not me, but I don’t give a crap if someone does either. I’ve met plenty of genuinely great people that fit parts of that description, and plenty of deadbeat aholes without any tattoos, piercings or dyed hair.

Like the saying goes, you can’t always judge a book by its cover.

I'm getting outta this one, too much respect for many on here lol

I'm fine with them. But if some kid stuffs an LS into a heap like this because he wants to go fast on the cheap, I'll shed no tears. I'll give him a thumbs up and an attaboy.

My Grandma did give me a car, and I did engine swap it! A Pontiac, talk about a beaker. I had to swap it because it was a Pontiac six whose balancer got loose and hogged out the keyway on the crank. Press on balancer, no bolt, dumb design. Welds didn't hold. I remember dragging a Chevy six out of my buddy's shed and putting that in. The Chevy had a bad head, but the Pontiac head fit, the bottom ends were different. I drove it for a couple years and gave it to my brother.

Im sorry?

What???

Holey smokes. You win.

As far as Kevin Hart goes, I think the Charger is badass, can't speak to any others.

Oh so now you’re an expert on what Don Garlits and Herb McCandless would like too?

Gimme a break pal.

The only one embarrassing themselves here is you.

No he’s not, cause if he did he would know that both Herb and Don have vintage MoPars with “modern drivelines” and other upgrades...

Herb loves old Mopar fin cars and has some with newer modern engines to make them easier to drive and enjoy at his age, and he racks up lots of miles on them, think he has 2 with newer gen hemis. And Dons vintage swamp rat dragster has a new modern gen 3 392 CI Hemi in it....and he’s one of the biggest hot rodders around so this is nothing new to him. Met them both and both super nice guys....but I guess they are not cool l anymore cause they have “modern drivelines” in old cars and the OP hates that.....

Big Daddy’s Swamp Rat Xll with “modern driveline” is pretty lame according to some people....

Don was a super nice guy, this was at Iola WI last July right before he fired it up for the “Cackle fest with Bruce Larson” it was awesome.

Herbs son Mike is a FABO member here and they have quite the collection of cars, they have Atleast 3 or 4 modern Hemi powered forward look cars in their collection that they can drive and enjoy and also a 5.7 70 Cuda...they have lots of race cars and mint correct cars so these were built to enjoy even more.

A car is an invention meant to be enjoyed and serve a purpose, which is generally being driven.
That enjoyment is accomplished by many and varied means. Does not make one right or another wrong.
In our old car hobby, our ways and means varies as much as our difference in $$ and personalities.
Glad to see the ole Swamp Rat still above the grass!

We simply cannot appreciate the millennial (except maybe Rainy, & a few) modifications.

my auto mechanic a/c & brake instructor has red neon lights on his slightly late model Ford pickup. And he thinks that the 4.6 is great on torque.
I don’t correct him, but suppress my eye brows!

No offense but the older dudes were the ones putting shag carpet on the dash of their cars.

Hey, I’m in that video….just not in either car:(

No way?

Thats cool!

I wish I had known someone here had acess to that car. I scoured video tring to get a good look at that wing and in the end i just kinda went for it and "winged it".

:)

The street car reunion was a great race. The last year it was in Bowling green we got rained out the day after qualifying.

I would love to see that car in person.

Id love to unleash that car.... but im not sure i have the stones for that...

That thing is a beast.

It makes me wonder how does Mercedes Benz feel about there cars covered in Nazi regalia ?

Did he make ANY passes on it? It’s a SHOW car. If it was for real, that Gen III would be sitting next to a dumpster.

Day 2 is what I like. All the love for the “modern” stuff is just fluff. The brakes don’t stop a car. Never have. The tires do.

I watched a congressional hearing when I was a kid. The worthless politicians drug some guy from GM up before them like the gods they think they are, to rail on him about how shitty GM’s brakes were and that they wouldn’t stop a car. I don’t recall now but I’d bet that moron Ralph Nader had a hand in it. Anyway, after he took some crap for a while, he finally got sick of it and interrupted them. And then he told them the brakes don’t stop the car. The tires do. Stone silence.

Then as worthless politicians do, they ignored the fact and went about their time and money wasting.

A coil over or strut front end doesn’t drive any better than torsion bars that are set up correctly.

“New” isn’t always better. A NA G3 Hemi isn’t impressive. Seen that many times. Put a pump on it and it’s better.

It’s amazing that all the young guys who think new **** is always better because it’s new need to slow down and do some learning.
