Mine before that was cardboardThat's clean....WAY better than the Home Depot job I did on mine, lol.
I have never had a track get that granular on my car. I guess it depends on where you race. When I raced at Bandimere in Colorado years ago, they would check my car over with a fine tooth comb....Some of the tracks here in Indiana literally don't even tech the cars, which makes me a little uncomfortable because the car in the other lane could be a cobbled together piece of trash.View attachment 1715871762 Nice work! I have a question, so outward of the metal interior pieces. The trunk space leads over the wheelhouse and into the quarter window area, which is only separated by the rear quarter window cardboard panel. Is that an issue?
Needs a big pentastar bead rolled into the metal.shoutouts to Bob at Ed quay race cars I've bn between 6 and 7 years trying to get the firewall put in the rear of my car he did it in one week very very pleased and happy with it. Thanks again Bob.

The problem with the fastbacks is what separates the trunk from the passenger compartment is woodI have never had a track get that granular on my car. I guess it depends on where you race. To your point, I have more questions raised if I have me back seat out of the car (exposing the rear firewall)....so I usually just leave the seat in to avoid questions.
I know it is a pretty fine point and you really need to know the car. Actually thinking about it all A bodies are open like that, not just fastbacks.
No, I couldn't because I have a 20gal fuel cell in my trunk and it protrudes through so I had to get it made like that. Plus the way it is made I like it much better. You can just remake the plywood panel out of whatever gauge steel or aluminum is required and use screws of bolts to install it.
That looks great. What paint did you use on the package tray? Is it textured? It looks really good.
