aluminum rods ? I am waiting over three months

The shame of it is the engine was just freshened and ready to go. He is going to put what comes out into a factory block unless I can come up with an X block. Might take it to Carlisle on a run stand to sell.
I need to order titanium valves , Seats , smith brothers push rods and offset solid roller lifters.

I've cut way back on buying anything not necessary. The wait times are bad, but getting gang raped on prices just takes the fun out of it.

I ordered a Strange Engineering S-60 for my Barracuda at the end of January. Just got a call today that it is being delivered tomorrow. I was getting worried at how long it was taking. Now, i need to slam it in and measure for a new driveshaft and get that ordered. Hopefully, the driveshaft has a shorter lead time!

13.5 -1 compression 4" stroke' 4.080 bore. 4500 sniper. R-3 with Indy CNC 360-1's. Very light crank and aluminum rods.. 2 1/8 Zoomies. Since its our engine and my son does the balancing it will be balance as close to zero grams as possible.

The old engine was a heavy crank and rods shifted at 8000 . I have seen the recall at 9300. 6 years and the only issues when tore down was Gulled pushrods, no tension in the top rings from over heating with a bad rad.. some of the T&D rockers hitting the Retainers. At the end you could feel the power loss but it still went 10.50's in a #3850 lb. car through the exhaust street car.

Can't wait to here and feel the new car.

Whatcha doing for a camshaft?!?!
What deck height is the R3?

Ordered parts today from Dr Diff to rebuild the 742 differential in the 68 Barracuda. New 3:55 ring and pinion, gasket kit, minimum install kit. Everything was in stock and shipped out today. Including the gear set, shipping and taxes it came in under $300.00
I am happy.

My son is having a fab 9 inch housing made for his duster. 1000.00 with it set up exactly like his 8 3/4. Thank God I have a Strange housing, spool, and 4:30 gears he is going to borrow (probably forever lol). I also have a spare used set of Strange brakes needing only new rotors. He bought a coupon a friend won at a race for axles for 100.00 so he did good there.

I don't know who IS buyin everything, but I can tell you who AIN'T buyin everything. lol

Right now the deck is 9.56 That may change. The cam is a large solid roller . I believe the center line is 120. I would have to get the exact numbers from Steve. The pistons are Ross domed. Very nice they are here. He is ordering the Titanium valves and seats next week. We need to get the engine apart for some head measurements. I'll get pictures of that disassembly.

I thought that was going to be a street cruiser. Have you decided it's the one to replace your orange car?

Kinda crazy how some things are finally getting easier to get, (Cometic Gaskets) and things like M/T slicks and tires are slow getting stocked up.

The economists heads say: inflation, then stagnation, the recession.
Ive seen it all, I just skip the pages to recession.
If I can't put it together with what I have laying around, it probably won't get done.
I did plant a big garden though!

That look when they take your order and charge your card, then they send an email letting you know they are back ordered till September.

My project car driver, warranty on parts is 30 days, didn't even use the defective part and already out of warranty! Buy again, I had to do some serious arguing with Jegs customer service, but there all like that.
Had to order 3 small parts from Classic Industries, $23.00 shipping, at least they were in stock.

The Brown Duster is getting a 372 Edelbrock headed solid roller engine. The Demon for the street is getting a iron headed 416 solid roller. And all the internals from the orange Duster engine . The Brown Duster was sold and we are building a engine for the new owner who is a good friend.

. The Demon that is getting the Indy headed engine is pictured below. All the parts that we are buying are going in this car. This will be the replacement for the Orange Duster. I have two orange Demon builds in slow progress .

One all original radical 4spd street car .

And one very light hopefully 7 sec car.

Both will be orange . The tan body is a new body in white I bought several years ago. I am using it to build the Demon for the street. It is mint condition with no numbers at all never stamped. The race car body was a 4spd car no rust. The car was twisted but straightened. and held on a fixture while having a 25 point moly cage installed.
