74 power wagon dream truck...

-
J Par picked up a 75 W200 complete truck if you need anything shippable.

Glass is easy to put in, you just need a helper.
Super easy if the gasket uses a lock string, why pay someone?
My only helper is my wife and I can't put that on her... It's about $200 for the installation and it would be from a glass shop with a warranty...

Still looking for the little plastic side seat hinge covers I think mostly the driver side?.. a stock body gas cap for the bed of the truck...
It is down to those last little pieces of the puzzle...

Its dark here now, the complete rear view is intact, I need to look at the seat in the day light, it has a flat bed, and the truck runs, so no factory cap.

Nice same guy who painted the cab will do the bed soon?
That's the plan.. I already dropped the tailgate off to him and hoping to get time this week to start in on the bottom of it. I want to power wash it and clean it on the bottom and then do a rust neutralizer inside on the side walls. I think the bed and the fender walls are probably galvanized. Once I do a rush neutralizer on all of it all probably paint it satin white like I did the bottom of the cab... Once that's done I'll flip it over and give it to him and hopefully all he has to do is send it and paint it it's pretty straight... I have a set of rims at the sandblaster right now that I got from the wrecking yard and hopefully those will be out in time and I can have them painted the same off-white at the same time...

How did the engine hiccup turn out? Hopefully got the bugs worked out?
Well it was the oil leak coming from the back passenger side of the manifold and what seemed like a thermostat not opening... I've only started and warmed it up once since then and definitely the water is flowing but I'm not quite sure that it's getting enough fan flow... It appears as if the oil leak has stopped there was a little residue back there but I was figuring it was from just warming up the residual oil and it's settling into a spot. So time will tell on that...

The rear view is there, the glass is nice and clear, the seat seat side plastic, this truck is a standard cab so they did not fold down.
I do have a club cab seat out of a 78 in my barn, I can check to see if they are any good. It will take me a few weeks to get pictures of the seat stuff, its in my barn 70 mile round trip from my house.

Cool!!. I've got a couple mirrors and even seen one at the swap meet last week but all of them are really distorted and crappy... The seat plastic piece would be great but that is definitely no kind of priority..
Let me know what you want to do. .
I know we seem to work things out pretty easily.

Yeah that truck was parked in a warehouse all its life, not out in the weather.
I got to thinking, I might have an OEM gas cap off my 78, the guy that bought it off me (neighbor) put a locking cap on the truck, and gave the old cap to me.
Now just to find it.

I seen the old gas cap to my duster and it looks like it's the right size. It's out in my shed on my filler spout as I now have a 10 gallon fuel cell but again one day I may want to put a regular tank back in it. I need to match things up to see if it would work but it would be a chrome one and I was hoping that I could get one that I could paint...

Went to the sand blaster and grabbed the wheels and took them to the painter..
He already had the bed sanded in the first 80 grit pass........

I have a local friend who has a nice mirror for me... I figured I better say something before one ends up on the way LOL...
