Stop in for a drink.

I put a lid on it to keep the gnats out. :mob:

Flying insects and beverages  While I still lived in the desert my friends and I used to make a lot of trips to Lake Mohave on the Colorado River. That's the third lake in the line on the river. Throw all the camping gear in the boats and go find a beach to camp on . Almost every time the first non adult beverage container was opened, here come the Yellow Jackets . I think they had scouts out in the brush listening for that distinctive sound of a pull tab . The first 3 or 4 of those beverages consumed, we would leave a couple ounces in the container and take the container out in the brush away from camp and leave it there. Yellow Jacket problem solved .

That's why in Spain at the Tapas you put a slice of bread over your beer

Bumped into a retired Navy diver this evening... Always instantly at ease talking to a fellow service member.

A touch of Virginia whiskey this evening

Salute

I started out with a local barrel pick. It is pretty tasty. Templeton from here in Iowa, sources their juice from MGP in Indiana for now. They have some of their own distillate getting happy in their own rickhouses. It will be fun to compare the two when they release their own.

Then I switched to Sazerac Rye while I was smoking some Iowa Chops and local sweet corn.

Have a friend coming by later... Boondoggler Old Fashioneds with spiced cherry bitters being served up.

Roasted squash and peppers on the grill .... then a really nice medium rare New York strip

Summer squash? Love it on the grill. Zucchini, yellow squash. Onions, and mushrooms. Oh and thumbs up on the Strip.

I like old fashions. Sounds interesting. I am a neat freak. No mix, no ice, no water.

I've noticed:lol:

I enjoy old-school cocktails.... Generally whiskey or gin based.
I was a gin and tonicfan. Refreshing drink for the summertime. I switched to Tito's and tonic and never looked back.

Hadn't had one of these in many years and just happened to see it at the adult beverage dispensary

Forgot how really good they are, but the memory returned after the first sip :D

Went on a run today. We heard Stark's in Prairie DuChein had a couple new barrel picks. Damn did they.

Picked a few huckleberry Sunday.
Gonna make a simple syrup and entertain with huckleberry daiquiris Wednesday before the car show. What does a person pair with daiquiris?
