Great! I’ll pm you the pdf of the 1964 Service Notice that adjusted slightly the procedure. It’s basically the same as the FSM but more geared towards cables that have stretched a tad.
 
Type F because reportedly it's a little heavier than Dex...
I was told type F would tighten it up/ give harder shifts. The transmission shop guy that helped me with mine said if it working right, no reason to use anything but the Dex it was supposed to run.

Hey, when you drop that trans pan to change the filter, pay attention to what filter is on it. I would not be surprised to see a single hole filter. Very common mistake
