Stop in for a cup of coffee

Still unpacking from Carlisle trip. I'm sorry I left your place early. I really wanted to hang out with you and Marilyn. But something told me to get home asap.
No sweat still doing a inventory. Catch Jaquie bought a Hellcat? All we need around here a Cougar in a Hellcat!

Albany Chrysler MN, all makes car show, featuring Mopar this yr, also have burnout contests, some of those get pretty nuts, can do any kind of burnouts
Sounds like fun, like the shows that feature Mopar cause I only see Chevelles in the ones that don't lol! What town, just curious.

Good morning everyone. I hope this Friday is starting well for all. Planning to spend some time on my boys rat rod. Got more braking now. A Speedway 90⁰ master cylinder bracket that goes up under the cowl has a bunch of linkage so it will take some tuning. Got the oil psi gauge hooked up, had no idea what psi it had if any. Very happy to see 65psi at idle cold. And tach works now. A little bit at a time...

Working on daughters 350, snapped a spark plug in two, under a header of course so I'll blame that lol! Bought an Edelbrock kit for her Holley, somehow works for an 80457 4 barrel Holley cause the float gaskets tear when you loosen them, even the right way. Plugs are pretty sooty, going to pull and clean the rest of them, pull dist cap and see what's going on in there.

Reminds me I need to return the unused parts I b bought for the rebuild. 6 sets of different size jets, copper floats, needle valves, power valve and secondary springs.

Need any of that?

Keep it, you might need them..

$41 and I needed 3 gaskets, carb is new so that's good. Base gasket was even hammered and we have a gravel driveway, think more dirt was getting by than should have.

I saw your pics of the teardown, if I did that I'd have more extra parts than you do lol!

Yeah... what do those crazy engineers at Holley know...

Any reason why someone would remove that?
Forgot it maybe? And no I don't have one. I'm pretty poor on carburetor stuff these days. The reason it needs it is because that metering plate that's shaped the same way has to have something as a "back up" to seal against. If it was just the gasket itself, it would leak. If that makes sense.

Yes. That makes sense. It starts right up and runs well now. Got rid of the excessive fuel smell with the rebuild and a good cleaning.

Given the condition of the diaphragm I don't think the secondaries were functioning much if at all.

Yea, its Friday! The Trash Man Cometh! Started clearing a little of the disaster this bathroom job left in my garage. I set out the old sink still in the vanity top and it's gone  I think I will toss the rest of the vanity on the neighbors burn pile.

Good Morning

Good Morning

I've done a couple of vanity's, hated it! Nice to throw the old one on the burn pile isn't it?
