The end is near...

Well, the way I see it is that I knew freedom .Anyone born after the 70's doesn't understand what we lost because they never really had it. All they have now is an illusion of an abstract version of something called freedom. You know, when I was in college in 1969 I could go to the airport in Los Angles with my belongings in a paper bag from the grocery store, buy a ticket student stand by for 80 bucks ,pay in cash, not have to show id,have a couple joints in my pocket and smoke them in the bathroom on the plane and fly to New York no questions asked. And yes, there was a smoking section on the plane too. We didn't have to answer to anyone about much. Now try that .I went into a Citi bank to pay a 700 dollar bill for a dumpster I rented and paid for with a master card. I got the interogated by the bank manager about where I got that cash, what I did for a living. This is no bull **** ,this really happened here in America in 2015 .Now do you understand why I'm glad I'm old. WAKE UP

PREACH IT BROTHER........finally another guy on this site that TRULY UNDERSTANDS what is happening.

In a morbid kind of way I doubt that you are alone in those thoughts considering what we are witnessing from the Bert and Ernie excuse of our so called leaders
Watch your step. You talk about politics in a General forum and you might get another vacation.

Spend more time in N+P. The sharks are hungry.:D
We can get as nasty as we want. lol well sort of.

I'd be more worried about the left outlawing all gas powered cars in the next decade or so.
Plus i think LS swaps will becoming more abundant then gen 3, and what so wrong with gen 3 hemi's ? I'm a fan of LA engines but I see gen 3 as a hemi headed LA anyways.

If you were to have asked the elderly of the 70s, they would have told you the world is going bananas in a monkey village.

Same thing today. This planet is going to spin with or without us driving mopars

My "theory" on one of the reasons I don't like the Gen 3 is that it is being used as a stepping stone to get rid of the older engine platforms and allow them to die while society is being tricked into thinking you actually have something and case in point is a person gets rid of his LA platform vehicle and gets into a Gen 3 platform.....fast forward a few years and now "they" don't want the Gen 3 either so you get prodded into accepting the charger EV that vroom vroom's you.....it's not so much about the engines and cars as to what the end game is.

Sort of. There are rules there too.
Well yea, but it's hard to throw a fist threw the computer screen and I'm too disciplined to use bad words and make threats.
I prefer to do that in person.
So, I'm good, I think. :D

I have no problem with Gen 111, What I do know, in factory trim it will walk all over any LA.
I think all the LA's were pigs, except for maybe the 340, maybe.

I Kind of get what your saying don't totally disagree, but soon all we'll have is the engines that have been made and no more until the end of time for future Rodding as they phase out V8 gas automobile engines in the next few years.

Ehhhhh your comparing 2 dramatically different eras in technical ability which isn't really fair in itself....it has been proven time and time again that a current day modified 60's mopar LA platform can easily gap a modified Gen 3 Charger or Challenger

Evil isn't it

That boils down to consumer choice. I'd love another lat model Charger, it was a great car, and only a v6, with almost as much power as the 50 year old dinosaurs I drive. Reliable, never had any issues with it, it just ran and drove, and handled better then anything else I've owned. But I don't sell my old cars, they are the fun ones to drive, and I drive them. Trailer Queen cars are not for me, they were meant to b driven and I love putting the miles on.

So if Joe Blow wants to waste his money by buying a new car every X number of years, let him. I can't control what's going on in the auto industry, I just want to keep driving the old rides I already have.

Got any examples? I'd love to read about that.

I don't honestly know as I don't have interest in the modern HEMI but what does a conventional non power adder Challenger or Charger run in the 1/4 compared to lets say a 71 Duster 340 4 speed ? I mean do they really blow the old platform away? Hmmmmm I may need to investigate that

If using stock heads LS and Hemi have the advantage but if aftermarket are gonna be used anyways the advantage is nullified for the most part.

I was just confirming a suspicion that the Gen 3 N/A platform in a modern production car doesn't walk all over the muscle cars from yesteryear.

And take into consideration the technical differences between the 2 eras and it's quite easy to see the original era muscle cars were quite impressive and quite simplistic and basic as to how they should be.
