Come on Edelbrock. Get your act together.

Do I understand correctly; you have the heads too, and that is where the gasket needs to be to line up? Is the head opening that big too?

I am guessing you’ll be welding the intake or milling the deck surface of the head to lower the top of the port?

If you read my post above the previous owner milled the top of the port to lower it so I’m guessing his valve cover didn’t lay on the intake. The proper thing to do with these raised runners is to run valve cover spacers to raise the valve cover. The super Victor is worse yet. Yes I did port his heads and as always port match to this gasket witch is usually very close to as delivered size. Owner is going to tell me what direction he wants to go tomorrow.

A women took over, that should tell you everything IMO.
99% of the time the important thing is money.
There aren’t an abundance of women that can do this right from a man’s prospective.

And so Competition Cams now owns Edelbrock.

Now let’s look at recent Competition Cams quality issues….

Do you see where I’m going with this?

IOP own Edelbrock. They just want to make a buck. You want cheap parts? Well here is the result of companies trying to compete with pirate part suppliers. Now everyone says how Speedmaster is a better deal.. :realcrazy: down the drain it goes.

They’ll ride the name for all that it is worth right into the grave

Well, Vic has been gone for a while. I think his daughter took over. So the question is; which is more important to her; bigger profits or Vic's quality?
The family sold the company a few years back. They are under the Comp Cams umbrella now. More accurately, I believe, Comp is under the Edelbrock umbrella. Who da hell knows? They're in bed together, dammit. lol

Exactly. Now it's basically worth nuthin. Remember how I've argued Edelbrocks castings have been offshore for a while? I don't give a **** what the company says, now maybe people will believe me.

Prove to me there made offshore.

I will have to disagree with the insinuation that a woman can't do the job. There are plenty of men running companies into the ground.

Prove to me there made offshore.
They may as well make them offshore, everyone else is stealing their designs and doing that.
Then the clever crowd comes along thinking how smart they are buying a knockoff head etc, that looks the same but cheaper. Might as well get used to it, from what I heard the other day, new head designs are pretty much out the window for the enthusiast.

I didn’t say women can’t and I didn’t insinuate, I stated my opinion but perhaps it came over as a fact.

Not “Might as well….”

Otherwise, yup! I agree.

I don't know if they havea China deal going, all I was saying is that every one of the knockoffs are made there with a little sarcasm.

Wanna hear something crazy. There is a guy over here, buying Speemaster parts, sending them to China get copied. That's how it's going, knockoffs of knockoffs...

That’s to insane in my head to work. But that’s why I’m not rich right?!?! LMAO!!!
That guy is probably on to something huge and will be a
ba-zillionaire!

It's ALL about the money.

I work for an industrial cleaning company that started 65 years ago and sold in October. The current president of our company is an operations guy. When he announced his retirement, the new company selected the controller as the new president.

In other words they are much more concerned about money than actually doing what our company does.

Yep, he just found a place that will cast them cheaper than what SM sells them for.. Even companies like SM get fat and lazy by the looks of it.

Yeah, I've used thicker HD gaskets & notched the lips on the valve covers, but You are where You are through no fault of Your own now so.......

A raw casting is better than nothing.
Hopefully Trick Flo will get with the program.
But then again, some guy's are to cheap to pay for real quality and are content with mediocre products, thus Speedmaster.
