I have long been considering installing more modern bucket seats in my 69 Barracuda. I don't want install anything that would look out of place. I just want a more comfortable seat that is 6 way power that would recline. I thought I could have them recovered in a manner that would somewhat match the 69 Barracuda style. I am just looking for a happy medium. Has anyone else done this, and what did you use?

I've been wondering the same thing. I don't have to keep my factory seats or look. I wondered if the Challenger seats would bolt in?

This may be way off but....
I bought non power reclining bucket seats from an '85 Camaro and had them recovered to resemble 1973 style seats for my FrankenDuster....

I'm going to do this to my Duster using mid 90s Dakota bucket seats that I have & do what Kern Dog did. I will have to make the brackets to mount the to the floor, but they look pretty good in the car right now. Sometimes high back buckets don't look right in older cars though. A low back seat would look good in a 69 Barracuda, in my opinion, but having 6-way power & reclining option would be tough to find in a low back design. Either way you choose, you will probably have to make the seat adjuster to floor brackets yourself.

Back when, I swapped in a 71 Loaded charger bucket seats into my 72 Demon. A bit of shims and longer bolts - fit fine. Any seat can be a blessing and a challenge. It’s called “Hot rodding .” Make it work, show us some pictures when you do.

Going back to the Lo/Hi back issue. If you want the low back, but with power, you might scour classic Mercedes forums or some such place. cars like that are about all I can think of that would be low back and power.
I went with the ProCar seats. So far fit & finish seem fine, but actual usage is still yet to be determined, though I've heard good things. Bigger range of slide & manual recline.
Many modern car seats need a flat floor. The big hump where the bench seat mounts might get in the way. I flat floored mine since it was all apart, just in case in the future I want to go a different route.

What did @Kern Dog do? Kern?

I used Ford Taurus seats. Look great, and fit nicely. Took work to make mounts, but it all worked out.

I will say this the A bodies non symmetrical floor is a PITA. I found the inner front holes on both sides to be about ¾" lower than the front outer holes. The tunnel is moved to the pass side by almost two inches so measure that side for the maximum seat width.

BMW 3 series seats with a 1”x1” square tubing mount for each sides hills and valleys.
The seat tracks themselves are made for totally flat floor.
The 2 colors upholstery was custom order.
7 way adjustable, but no heat or electric control.

Yah, I’m just hoping he posted a picture or re-directs to his thread to show about sway track mods and upholstery choice, what year Dakota etc…
@Kern Dog
Mine are from a 95, but I think any first gen. Dakota with buckets would be good. They are very comfortable too.

Search Procar seats. They make a decent frame for the bottom. I would get the XL version. I installed a set and they were nice. They have a couple different old school patterns

I always wondered why it seemed my seats were off-center from the transmission tunnel... now I know it's because the tunnel is off-center! I always knew the drivetrain was offset on these cars but didn't think it was also the tunnel, makes sense.

What about having your current seats updated/modified with new sculpted foam (bolsters) & covers?

2009 Mini Cooper seats in my car. All manual adjustments, look vintage and hold you in place for corners. Link to my blog showing the brackets I made for them to fit.

I have procars in my Swinger and I like them. I have always thought the 03-04 Mustang Mach 1 seats would be awesome in an old mopar.

I put a set of buckets from a 2001 or 2002 Dakota club cab in my 75 Dart Sport. Took some work, but the end result was worth the effort. Sorry, don't have any pics at this time.
They both recline, plus the passenger side also slides far forward for rear seat access.

I know a few people have used the Chrysler Sebring convertible seats in an early "A" body. The shoulder harness is built into the seat. I got a set of these seats but have never got around to installing them.
