Comments in for sale posts

Thanks, I can't tell where it started. It really doesn't matter other than I get thrown under the bus for not moving it to the vender forum. (Heck it could have been there to start.) If it did need to get moved, it couldn't have because Hughes isn't on the list to move it to..
Actually, I moved it from the For Sale area to the TRASH simply because there are so many guys complaining about the lack of communication with the seller, the attitude expressed in the advert text, and the constant uncontrollable urges from certain members to refrain from commenting when everyone was specifically told not to make comments.

Besides that, calling out a Moderator for being a Nazi just took the biscuit IMHO. There is no need for that at all in any shape or form.
And threatening to leave just because one doesn't get his way and demanding a refund of his Gold Membership.....really????

Yes, the Vendor could have handled things better, but the best thing for all the commenters to do would have been to either walk on by - or REPORT the thread for what you might consider the problem is.

I understand that "comments" are not permitted in "for sale" adds, but let me ask if that includes valid questions about the item(s) for sale? Are questions considered "comments" or are questions allowed?

Questions that pertain to the item for sale are allowed, as long as they are a question.

Comments made because of how an item looks, or priced are considered comments.

It is usually cut and dry, but sometimes a line-ball call is made.

The nazi comment was actually a reference to past actions and the bs with banding a member for asking him a question.

As for not getting my way. What are you talking about?

As for my leaving being a "Threat". What does that have to do with you? Refund my money an I'm out of here. But you hang on to Hughes he's a real go to guy. Just call an ask him a question but give him your cc number first.

What does it have to do with me you ask.

Everything....you pick on Mods for doing their job, we stand up for each other, discuss things with each other, and we do this thankless job day in and day out because we share the same passion about the cars, and we care about the site running well.

If you want to leave....go ahead...nobody is standing in your way.

Refunds....there are no refunds.

As far as the ethics of Vendors...that's up to them how they conduct business. If you don't have a great experience, feel free to add genuine feedback from a transaction. But don't go bad-mouthing a paying supporter of the website just because you had a deal go south.

Commentary on advertisements has always been a problem. They will be dealt with as we get to them and dealt with how we see fit. That is not up for discussion in the open forums.

I'm closing this thread because it actually serves no useful purpose now, since most offenders won't bother taking heed of what has been said.
