They use a different metal for the cam so they can use a iron gear.. I'm guessing that performance rollers use a harder core for the cams to not twist with more aggressive ramps and lobes compared to stock stuff
Purchased cam a roller from crane. And a dist drive gear. Gear is iron. Crane sold it with the cam. Are they wrong?

Not if they used a iron core for the cam... howards also had to check which cam i had to know what gear i needed... so i assume they do it both ways for some reason :)

And i did say i was guessing as to the reason for different cam core materials.. i am not a cam scientist although i fake one online
With all oil back there I bet there is near zero wear on those gears. My thinking

I can get them out without a press.. not sure bout getting back in... i have a buddy like a mile away with a press, i just don't want to deal with him.. he's a GM engineer and won't even talk to me now that i got another mopar.. let alone actually help with anything.. we don't talk much anymore

This was a bit of a twist on the washer weld.

yup, i have a big *** vice so i'm gonna try that before hammering.. hoping i have a piece of pipe laying around

Seems a bit more subtle than the BFH approach... be cool if it worked. If you have the time I'd almost do a PB Blaster/ WD-40 hose down for a couple of days to maybe loosen things up a bit

Another hot day here.
Thunderstorm at home, at least an inch of rain so far, judging by the water on the driveway. Extreme weather triggers the cameras, took a look. Hope i dont get water in basement.

Did some more touring around, theres 6 highways into town, think we drove them all. Pretty cool. Nice with the tow/haul in the truck, it downshifts as soon as i touch brake, engine can do 100% of the braking, until i touch the gas.

Yeah.. if we get really heavy rain i get a wet basement :( makes me nuts worrying bout it on rainy days

It's all fun and games until the LCA bends....
Well, I guess that’s possible. You can weld reinforcement plates on, so apparently it happens. But would take some serious effort to do out of the car. Beat the snot out of mine and don’t think I came close to bending them.
