March 4 1966 brought a major blizzard to Southern Manitoba, shut down most everything in and around Winnipeg for about a week. Snow was drifted over rooftops of houses. There have been some significant blizzards since then, but that's the one that most people think of whenever the word blizzard is mentioned. I was but a tyke then and don't have any memory of it myself. I do remember a few later ones though.
OK that's the one the old timers talked about.

Went out this afternoon, it was beautiful and sunny and 3 degrees C
I jumped in the car and backed it out of the garage and there was my wife glaring at me and saying "and what do you think you are doing" lol Well I tried anyway.
Sure needed that sunshine to lift the spirits though

I remember things like that after my arm surgery. My other half works and noticed my car had moved when I was told by doc not to drive. She ended up taking my keys because I made a run to town for a root beer.

I was 8. I remember dad crawling out a bedroom window to be able to dig the door open so we could get out. Remember sliding down off the roof of the house into the backyard. It was 2 days before a wheel loader made a bucket width trail down our street. Was great though never had to go to school for a week I can still see the piles of snow along the streets I couldn’t see the houses. Storm of 97 meh no comparison.

The storm of 97 brought the "Flood of the Century", but no it really wasn't that bad. The street that I lived on did not have a back lane on my side, we had the Seine River, but the city plowed the back lane on the opposite side of the street. I called and asked if they would be able to send a loader down the street to at least make a lane for those of us who didn't have access, I think there were 5 or 6 houses, but no, can't help you. Spent a few hours with my snowblower and made a path for my elderly neighbors and I to at least get out if we wanted or needed emergency vehicles to get in.
I left my car parked on the center median of St. Anne's Road for the first two days because I couldn't get down the block to my house. Thought for sure I would be ticketed, but nope, I figured at least it wasn't blocking the plows from clearing the main roads.

I stopped by the DODGE Dealership yesterday in Red Deer for a look at the new 2024 DODGE RAM 1500 4X4.

Just for fun, I took it out for a test drive.

I wanted to sense that new truck "feel" before I get too old.

The salesperson (a nice looking man wearing a 'DIVERSITY’ lapel pin sat in the passenger seat next to me, describing the truck and all its “wonderful" options.

The seats were of particular interest.

He explained that the seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter and directed cool air to your butt in the summer heat.

Feeling like messing with him, I mentioned that this must be a Conservative truck.

Looking a bit angry, He asked why I thought it was a Conservative truck.

"I explained that if it were a Liberal truck, the seats would just blow

smoke up your *** year-round!"

I had to walk back to the dealership but it was worth it!

Morning guys.
Had a great time out yesterday and then to taken out for supper was the icing on the cake.
Supposed to be sunny all week, guess we'll find out.
Have a good one

Been busy around here, my sister is visiting me and the carpenter is installing my exhaust fan in the garage today.

Another day of mid 50* temperatures, snow is nearly all gone now, but it will no doubt be back. Might be wearing shorts before the end of the week.
:)

Think I'd rather install a fan than buff another car. lol Hope you have a nice visit with your sister. Haven't heard much about the MIL lately. How is she doing?

I can't cut a board straight but I can buff out a car. LOL
MIL is doing fine and having a good visit with my sister, thanks

Saturday night here in town a 15 year old punk shot and killed someone. He is now facing 11 charges.
Because he's 15 years old he's considered a young offender. That's ok for any other crime but this should be treated as if he was 18 or older and tried in adult court.
You do an adult crime you get treated like an adult

Kinda think the parents might be the problem but just my 2 cents.
