Hey everyone I’m back.

Somehow someway my 1967 dodge dart GT is in the shop still. It is undergoing paint and bodywork after an accident.

The owner was worried to remove clips and trim before paint but I want them removed. The main clips I’m concerned with are the plastic ones along the tops of the fenders that run all the way along the car. I found a kit from RT specialties and wanted to get anyone’s opinion on it before I buy it. Here is a link to that set of clips : 1000147S SIDE TRIM CLIP SET 67 DART GT, BODY, 1000147S :Mopar Fasteners, Clips & Hardware

Also any techniques for reusing the metal rocker clips that go along the bottom is greatly appreciated.

Any insight into all the trim around the GT darts would be helpful. Even the trunk lid GT finish panel and the trim around that does that have clips as well? If anyone has links to clips etc that I can check out that would be awesome.

The other final issue with the car right now is that the passenger side fender mounted blinker assembly/molding was damaged in the accident. If anyone knows sources or is selling this I would be very interested.

Thanks,
Vince

I have 2 sets of the RT specialties clips BUT i have not used them yet. They look good though.

I'm sure you already figured out that the fender, door and quarter top trim has nuts on some of the ends. and when removing the plastic clips try to pull the centers out ( drill a small hole in the center pin and put a screw in it OR the pin will be inside your door, quarter panel etc and could rattle.

As for trunk trim, yes there are clips on the 4 pieces that hold the trunk full badge on plus the 4 screws that are pointed to in red.

I'm looking for a photo of the trunk trim clips I do not think they are reproduced.

Where the clips go (blue ignore red and blue squiggle)

67 Dart GT trunk trim

rocker clips have a center part the gets spread apart GENTLY to release them from the body. They get squeezed to reattach them. I would put some Body sealer in, on and around the hole when reattaching them.

As for fender top turn signal...

The signal is not reproduced that I know of BUT the lens is, so if you can find a good chrome part with a bad or missing lens you have an option.

hope you are sitting down...

this is drivers side but they are out there NOS and good used

Thank you so much for the detailed reply man! Will those trunk where the blue lines are pointing be the same clips as the rt specialties ones? And will those other 4 be reusable?

no, the clips where the blue lines point are specific to the trunk trim that surrounds the full cover. I don't think they are preproduced.

67 Dart GT trunk trim post 7 shows all the trunk clips and where they go. Not sure what you mean about the other 4

Thanks again man! And you would recommend to definitely remove the trunk lid GT trim before paint/color change?

As much as I hate removing trim, yes. Be careful when you remove the 4 pc trim nuts that they don't fall off the socket and get lost in the recesses of the trunk lid (can you say rattle!!!!)

Yea the shop owner basically said he’d take off the trim around the GT trunk full badge but leave the full badge on incase it could bend when coming off and because those clips can break and are hard to find. So I wasn’t sure what to do. Also would those 4 screws be enough to hold that on given clips breaking etc?

there are no clips holding the full badge on, just the 4 screws

There are clips holding the 4 pieces of trim that surround the full badge on the trunk.

the full badge will stay on fine, the trim will stay on with fewer clips but I would put an ad to get more. HemiSSDart (I think is his handle) has had a lot of parts for 67 Darts
