I have a 1974 plymouth scamp that has an 8.25 rear end.
I'm searching for brake shoes. Drums specify they are 11 inch. All the parts houses near me have 11 inch brake shoes but they are 2.5 inches wide and mine are 2 inches wide. Anybody run into this issue?

The 11"x2" rear brakes were not factory equipped on A-bodies, including the 1974 Scamp but may have been added.

The 11"x2" rear brakes were factory equipped on some C-bodies with smaller engines and 1/2 ton truck models including the following among others:
- 1968-1969 D100
- 1969-1973 W100
- 1965-1975 Monaco
- 1965-1975 Fury

The last Chrysler supersession number for the 11"x2" shoes is 4176761.

The Friction Materials Standards Institute (FMSI) number is 334.

Some aftermarket brands and numbers include:
- Bendix 334 or 334R
- Bosch BS334
- Wagner PAB334, ANA334R, PAB334R, or WNA334
- EIS ES334, ES334R, EX334, or NX334
- Raybestos 334PG
- Rockhill 334 or 334R
- Centric Parts 110.03340 or 111.03340
- Carquest NS334
- NAPA N-334

Thank you so much. Just ordered the correct brake shoes. I appreciate the help

Measure the drums to make sure they are 2" drums, not 2.5". You never know if somebody put the wrong size shoes in there at some point.

Yeah I did. I ordered all the parts and then tried to install them and noticed the shoes were 2 inches wide instead of 2.5. The guys at the local O'Reilly were awesome tho and went through about a dozen different boxes with me comparing then to try and find the correct ones with no luck. Drums are in really good shape. Just need new shoes.

The fact that you have an 8-1/4 rear really has no bearing on what size brakes are on it.
Maybe year by year or car model by car model but not because of it being an 8-1/4 rear.
I have an 8-1/4 in a 78 fury. It has 10"x2-1/2.
I have an 8-1/4 in a 85 D150. It has 11x2-1/2.
I've had 8-1/4 in jeeps and Dakota's with 9" drums and 10" drums.
I've also had 1/2 ton Dodge trucks with 8-1/4 rear ends and the same 10" brakes as my fury has
(Fury is a b body not a c body)

^^^ WRONG - O Buckaroo , ^^^
A Plymouth Fury is a Pre - B Body in 1962 - 1964 ,
And Exclusively and Absolutely ONLY a “ C “ BODY
from 1965 - 1973……..
