So I have a 70 Duster I am currently working on - 340 car but rolling shell with no fender tag or broadcast sheets. Best I can tell it was originally green metallic with automatic on the column and green bench seats. Not my cup of tea. As such, I am restomodding it FE5 Rallye Red, modern hemi etc.

I don't want a black interior so I am planning on either a full red interior or a red/white interior. Can you guys share any cars with these combos? I am leaning toward a set of aftermarket buckets due to availability (or lack thereof) of factory buckets.

Thanks in advance

FWIW, my 67 with a full red interior, metallic red with a darker red on the dash pad and upper doors.

Completely different car, but I was going to do my Dart full red interior. Then I found out it was red with black carpet and a white headliner.
It looks fantastic, imo.

Also, I'm a big fan of plaid lately.

Not a fan of plaid. I remember in '69 my dad took me with him to check out a brand-new Camaro with houndstooth buckets.

Nope, fortunately he bought a new cuda 340 with deluxe interior

So,with red dash, headliner, carpet and package tray, should the door panels and upper trim all be red for white seats? Or should the door panels be white?

With white seats and door panels, should the uppers be red or white?

Imo, red & white interior is tricky, and can easily go south.

And although not as difficult as a Mopar blue interior, different materials that are the same color can easily turn out to be different shades.

I had a tough time matching paint to the red vinyl in my 62 Dart.

The 62 Polara and 69 Barracuda below have some non-matching reds.
Then there are seat belts, armrests, panels, floor mats, steering wheel, console, which color for each?

The black carpet in my 62 breaks up the red, makes it easy to keep the carpet and carpet floor mats clean, I was able to add black rubber mats without adding another color.

Plus, whenever I get to adding the white headliner it should brighten up the interior.

Everything else is red and stainless.
I even added the Hurst shifter boot with the red H, and gauges with red accents and it's not an overkill of red.

I was a kid in the 70s but don t recall seeing many red interiors on these cars. Alot of black interiors on performance cars, white also but then your tans greens and blues tec. on the grocery getter cars,

Green, all I saw was green on green on green.
Now I dig green.

Don't see any colors, inside or out, in today's garbage. Parking lots full of grey/silver.
