Just did the scarebird disc change on my 65 dart. Scarebird recommends changing to longer studs (Dorman #610-156). Problem is the knurl on the stud is too skinny for my hub. So I bought new studs with a slightly bigger knurl (Dorman #610-114). New studs were tight untill driving around started to feel some wobble. Don't know how it's coming undone because I grinded the caliper to where it doesn't rub on my rim anymore.

To properly install wheel studs, you should use a press. Trying to pull the studs into place using nuts is likely to overload the stud.

What rims are you using? Are the lugs 60 degree tapered or a shank lug? Many aftermarket wheels now take a 60 degree tapered lug. Does the wheel fit the register or is it larger. Could be your relying on the lug to keep the wheel centered. There are two ways to fix that . . Stud shoulders would be the easiest. Or a register adapter.

I'm using 14 inch rims and the lug has always been tapered to go into rim. Today I will try to press them in, instead of pulling them in.
