I ordered a set of plug wires, a coil and three small brackets from Mancini Racing. It all fit in a 10x9.5x8 box and weighed 5# 14 oz (so 6 lbs). Mancini stung me for $38 shipping! Putting the dimensions and weight into the Pirateship.com website, the least expensive was UPS Ground Saver ($12.05). Next was the US Postal Service Ground Advantage Cubic ($12.20). Even regular UPS Ground ($16.29) was half what I got dinged for. WTF? Next time I need something I'll stick to Summit (this order would have shipped free with them) or members/businesses here. Lesson learned.

Last time I shopped there they hit me hard for UPS shipping. I’m not doing that again. Some vendors seem to offer better deal’s especially internationally.

They are not the only ones. Those fees add right up!

It's a huge FU from them. They say, "Here's your order total and, oh by the way, we'll add shipping & handling later when we get the order together." Wonder what they'd do if I asked them to hold the order, send me the box dimensions/weight, and I'll send them the prepaid shipping label from Pirateship like I've done buying cylinder heads?

i ordered a ton of stuff from them last year when i was doing the motor and all in the dart. the only complaint i had was the not telling you what shipping was. yes i could have waited for a call from them to say what it was but i needed the ****.

How did they ship it? Seems expensive but we have no basis of comparison.

By the time you guys add in the shipping cost to what your buying, is it still cheaper than buying it a local part store?

Yes. The local parts stores don't carry the special (read: Mopar) items I need. They're fine for shop towels, hand cleaner & air fresheners but you're still paying for their brick & mortar business. With orders over $109 (and mine always seem to be $1K or better), Summit ships free - and Summit is usually less expensive for universal items like carburetors, fuel injectors, etc.. NAPA isn't too bad (with the car club discount) for routine maintenance daily driver stuff. As many on here have stated, you can sometimes find good deals on batteries and peripheral things like oil & other fluids at Walmart, but for the big ticket and brand specific stuff, Summit is my go to.

Is Summit perfect - no, but in my experience their customer service is outstanding. For example, I received a notice that a big two box shipment was due to arrive on Tues between 9 AM - 1:15 PM - but it didn't. Wed morning I got a text saying they just attempted delivery at 9:15 AM but could not complete the delivery because they didn't have a code/key for the security gate. Huh??? I live on a public residential street with nothing between the curb and my porch. I was home and no one appeared on the street in front of the house. I called Summit. The customer service girl looked into it and advised she would reorder the parts - would 4-5 days be ok for shipping? I said yes. That evening I took wifey to dinner and when we returned, the original shipment was on the porch. I immediately called Summit and was able to have them cancel the replacement shipment. I can't speak for others but, if there has ever been a problem, the folks at Summit have jumped right on it and made it right.

Summit and Rockauto are my first two places I check, depending on what the item needed may be. Been using Summit for over 35 years and they have been terrific. Free shipping now is at 109 bucks or more, they ship very fast and are great to solve any issues. Rockauto has done me well too, but you'll pay shipping.

Mancini Racing sucks, anytime I order the website says in stock, and it's not. Trying to get ahold of them via email takes 5x to tell them to just cancel my order.

I try and call. Voice to voice seems to work for me. Hard part is the 3 hr time difference. Every time I start to dial, they've just closed - that's on me but it's still a PITA.

Yes, I forgot Rockauto. Lots of good (sometimes same as provided to the factory) parts and they certainly are more convenient than scrounging the parts yards and hoping to find that needle in a haystack part.

318willrun, thanks for the reminder on the $109 for free shipping at Summit. I corrected the #10 post.

yea i just had to return u-bolts to mancini. they answered the phone, i told them the issue and they measured what they had there and sent me the shorter ones for free. had a return ship lable in the box for the ones that were to long. no complaints there.

UPS Ground. Sorry, I forgot to include that in my initial rant. I'll try & do better next time.
Then they bent you over. Almost makes me mad. Did you call them? I sure would.

Your wrong parts story reminded me of my Jegs experience. My machinist said the pin bushings in my rods were shot. We found some on the Jegs site that could be honed a bit and would work for a reasonable price ($158). I had them shipped directly to the machine shop. Got a call from the shop owner saying the blister package label indicated the OD was 1.142 - or way too small for what we need. He took one out and measured it just to be sure. It was right on 1.142. The Jegs site and their order form said they were 1.172 OD. Somewhere, sometime, someone at Jegs entered the wrong OD size. I called Jegs & got the email of the gentleman I was working with. I sent him attachments of the bushing company data sheet, a picture of the bushing package label and the Jegs order form. Two days later I got a return label and sent the too small bushings back. Five days later I got a notice they had received the bushings and were refunding those costs. But now I'm getting deluged with emails & texts from Jegs. UNSUBSCRIBE, UNSUBCRIBE, UNSUBCRIBE!!!

They're probably charging for handling and shipping supplies if you ask them :)
I sell stuff on ebay and have a USPS account and save up to 50 per-cent on most items I ship.
It's called shipping not postage.

It's on this list for first thing tomorrow morning because they stop giving customer service at 3 PM my time (Pacific) M - F.
Don't let them give you a shuck and jive about "handling" charges. It wouldda been different if that was spelled out. Evidently it was not.

Did you call your order in or order online?

A phone call. The fellow noted all 5 things were in stock and would go out in the next 2-3 days. I got an email invoice that showed the 5 items with a subtotal and a disclaimer that the final cost wouldn't be charged to my credit card until shipping was factored in and that would be based on weight and distance.

Thinking of it, the last item I ordered from them, the shipping/handling was more than the item.

Torsion bars.
Mancini no free shipping.
PST free shipping.
PST was lowest total for me.

Went to Carlisle, to Mancini tent, asked for a-body bars, guy grabs them, says $400.
Not $399, $400.

I replied, your website shows $379, I have my cart saved on my phone.
He says no, we both pull out our phones, and we both show $399.

I say, no way, it was not $399.
He says, paying with cash, I said yes, he says how about $375?

$375 is lowest at that moment plus no bs with shipping issues, I say ok.
I give him $400, waiting for change.

Another customer comes up, says, how about them torsion bars?
Mancini man says, sure, $400.

Customer says, you told me $375 earlier?
