Josh's 73 Dart Sport - "Fred"

-
Oh yeah.... Josh's tire and wheel choice. 15x6 wrapped in 205/65 up front and 15x8 with 255/60 out back. Might do a 1 inch block on the rear, as it's a little high.

It's coming together quickly now. What kind of springs did y'all put in the back?

I don't 100% know. Picked them up locally from market place for 100 bucks. Dude had bought them for his 68 Dart ragtop 2 decades ago but never used them.

Maybe they will settle out some when you get it going. Take the rear shocks off, load it down with some bags of sand/concrete/dogfood and go drive it and let it bounce! LOL. It almost looks like they may be Super Stock springs. They raise the rear like that.

Looking good Mark/ Josh !!!! How big & bad is that 360 ? Hope he respects the power !

It turned out really well. Good bit of torque to smoke the tires a "little" but not a race car. Runs like a 360 with a .454 in/ex 216 duration cam would be expected to.
We took it on its 30 minute maiden voyage. I drove out and Josh drove back.

Car looks nice. That rear might come down a tad once it gets some miles on it. But your son might like it as is too.....

Hell yeah! Congrats! I had similar in high school with a 72 Swinger in the late 90s... Ended up married with small kids and broke, sold it, and have no clue at this point where the money went then... Tell him NOT to sell it when that time comes- he'll regret it just like all of us who've done so. Looks great!

.....in such a short time compared to most.

Thanks Jackie. And I can relate to " compared to most". I bought my 68 ragtop 9 years ago. It was going to be a 2 year project..... Yet now the next one is going to be a motor and paint (thankfully no bodywork) on my soon to be 15 year old daughter's Wrangler...

It went well. He's a senior this year and his freshman little sister, Jess, rides in with him everyday. He had his parking space planned - in between his 2 best buddies, where he always parks. The one jumped out of his truck, opened the passenger door, moved Jess to the middle of the bench and said "you gotta take me for a ride around the parking lot". Had a group of about 8 gather for a look and listen.
He's only there for 1st period, then off to the tech center for his hvac class the rest of the day. Rather than riding the bus, he drove there, as well. Had 15 or so kids flock to the beast.
My wife passed him in town on her way to work at 9am. Said he looked like the happiest kid to ever be on the road.
He said everyone loved the color combo, about 3/4 love the stance and everyone likes the sound.
He's driving it in again today. Tomorrow it will stay home in the rain.

it's great that he's getting such good reactions from his peers, it means a lot at that age
i'm sorry (and no offence meant) but i have to ask if the 3/4 who liked the stance also liked the film thunderbolt and lightfoot? and did any expect the trunk to be full of rabbits?
neil.

I'm glad he had such a good day. I'd say it will be one he remembers from now on, plus the story will be told at future class reunions for decades to come. He has made a great decision to work in HVAC. My brother-in-law runs an HVAC company, and another car buddy has his own HVAC company. Both say that they cannot find enough good people to work.

He worked a full time gig this past summer with a commercial hvac company. They want him back full time Feb 1st when he is done his 1st semester. He only needs one class 2nd semester and is actually taking that at night this semester, just ro begin the full time career.
