I have an early 1979 360 that now sits in a 1974 Dodge Dart Sport 360.
The manifolds I have are from a 318 car that is the ball/socket design.
I need the LEFT side that has the flat gasket style to match the factory style exhaust.
The numbers listed above are from the 1974 and 1973 parts books.
I really don't care about the numbers, I just need a manifold that will fit.
Please PM with what you have.
Thanks
Ray

If your heads are 79 models also, look to see if there are little bleed holes under each exhaust port. If they are there, they will need to be tapped and a little pipe plug screwed into them so you don't have an exhaust leak with the earlier manifolds.

71-74 340/360 a body are all the same for the left side.

That left side, 3614 395, has the ball and socket style flange. I need the flat flange that requires a flat exhaust gasket. I currently have that 3614 395, which is for a 318. I need to change to the 340/360 style, but even those have some slight differences. As long as it is the flat flange I should be able to make it work with the stock exhaust.

Yup, they are 79 heads. They have the little bleed holes so I will have to drill and tap them. Then put a plug in them. This is quickly becoming a huge PITA. If I did not have the heads redone, I would probably start looking an older set. Thank you so much for the info, I am a body and fab guy, not an engine builder! But I try awful hard.

I'm guessing your engine is still out since you just got the beautiful paint done, so it's not hard. Just see what size drill bit fits into the little holes, then pick a size or 2 up from that or one that needs to be used with the smallest little pipe plug you can use. Get the kind you put in with an Allen head wrench. You only need to put them in just below the flat face of the port. It will take you longer to get set up to do it than it will to actually do the job. Just drill deep enough for the plug to screw in, then tap it for the thread size on the plug. Put some Loctite on them and screw em in and you'll be done.

I have a Mopar 2951916 left side manifold with heat stove. Not positive of the fit but I think that it applies.

Yote

Thanks Yote, but the 2951916 (at least the pic I found on the web), is not the flat style that I need. Unless it looks different than this one.

Hmmm, I know it would not be exact, but I wonder if I could just machine down the "ball" section to make it perfectly flat, or at least flat enough to hold and seal the gasket. Just thinking out loud. It is late and weird ideas are starting to come out. LOL

You need a drivers side manifold shaped like the one in the bottom of the pic in post #1. All A body drivers side manifolds are shaped like that. The one in post #9 is a drivers side B or E body manifold, and won't fit an A body. They hit the steering column/shaft.

JD, I will defer to your knowledge and experience on the manifold that I need. You would think with all the A bodies out there it would not be that hard to find a left side with the flat flange. But unless I want to spend $700+ for a HP version (pretty rare I guess), there is little in the way of pieces out there. The hunt goes on, for now! :(

I have a 3614368-1 PM on the way

The true 72 and up 340/360 manifolds do pop up every now and then. The hard part is being in the right place at the right time to buy them. Hopefully, the one just mentioned above will be exactly what you need for the drivers side. A center dump for the passenger side from about any body style (A,B or E) will work in an A body. Hang in there....you'll find some!

Another alternative is to get the '75-6 LH exhaust manifold which will cover the smog ports in the head without having to drill and tap. The RH is the same for almost all body styles including trucks from '75-up, so you may already have that if it came with your engine. You just need to use the '75-up gaskets. If the vehicle had a smog pump, you would just to get the factory bolt-on plug for the end, or, just knock a freeze plug in the hole where the tube would bolt on. The trick is finding that LH manifold that isn't cracked.

I have one for the driver side came off of 72 demon 340
