Let's see photos of right hand drive Mopar steering geometry

Agreed! When I dropped the k-member I couldn't help but think they (Chrysler in Oz) just grabbed something off the shelf instead of engineering something a little more "proper".
Except that in the case of the Barracuda this was done at the factory in Detroit, so Chrysler Aus must have gone ‘OK that will do for us too’.

Wow...you can see the added structural brackets for the steering box mounts. Also, look close and you can see a fairly complicated transmission shifter linkage that seems to run to the LEFT side of the car for support.
When I first saw the mountings I thought they were a DIY job but they are factory. Mines a console shift so actually the linkage is standard.

From memory he had added the flat bar you van see to the bottom of the rail and side plates to the outside for reinforcement.
Thanks! I thought that looked a little "flatter" than I remember....

I don't know that I did it any better on Bazza's VG, as I wanted everything to be tucked away inside, with no "tell" visible externally. Hopefully my work will outlast me so I don't have to hear the comments about my (alleged) welding skills when the next owner digs into it!

Seriously? So we (the "'merican" engineers) "shafted" the Ozzies like this?

Man, I'm so sorry!

Well, a floor shifter arrangement should be universal since there is no need to cross over to the other side.
Column shift linkages would be interesting to see. Being attached to the steering column means it would run into the engine compartment and have to cross over in some manner. This is where a cable would have made sense, same as how Ma Mopar changed the KD system from levers pushing to a cable pulling.

The speedo cable has a bit further to go and also the parking brake has to angle across from the handle to the equaliser

The curious thing is you can understand that for a few hundred models to the UK that a fairly simple solution like this would have been cost effective, but Chrysler Australia shifted thousands of units of locally built and designed cars that were quite different to their US cousins, so you would have thought they would have designed / sourced a solution locally.

Oh was thinking remote...
I wish!

I played around with several remote kits, and got a ton of good advice here on how to do it, but Bazza wants to keep the car as OEM as possible, and I just couldn't find a way to make one of them work while still being out of the way (underneath) and yet still serviceable.

So that's mounts to the intake?
Would love to see that close up

Here is the oil filter solution on the Barracuda, I know another one over here that has the same and also ones like the VG above, I think the one closest to the firewall was probably for heater delete cars as there isn’t a blower motor in the way. The version I had was a sandwich plate with 2 brass elbows, with 2 hard lines running up and forward to the filter. The filter is mounted on a cast bracket that acts as part of the mounting for the alternator. I replaced mine with a remote kit from Hemi Performance in Australia.

Comparing the firewalls, there are quite a few little differences, and another little thing that isn’t immediately obvious is the brake cylinder is a US one on the Barracuda so the lines connect on the engine side, whereas on the Aussie car above that is a locally sourced cylinder, so they connect on the fender side.

Look at ALL THAT ROOM on the left side with no steering column and box in the way.

I have a number of them at home, and I'll see if I can remember to find and post them this evening. (No promises, sorry. Have a lot of work to do out in the shed/shop after work.)

I'm pretty sure I posted some here, though. Let me look around some during the day....

"Heater delete"? Are you referring only to Barracudas here? Bazza's VG has A/C, so it's definitely not a heater delete car.

But it's interesting that you mention "heater delete" with regards to the oil filter, as I think the blower motor is located here on his car (light blue circle):

I have a bunch of pictures at home of the engine bay sans engine, and now I'm curious as to where the blower motor resides in his car!

Looks over on the left below the heater hoses

I was wondering what the chrome strips on the fenders look like ...does it have a normal grill

Here's a thread where I mention the oil filter location in his car:

Not a very good picture of the oil filter adapter, unfortunately.

Found this during my search:

That was NOT fun to repair.
