What are people using for light weight batteries in your race cars? I'd like to get rid of my duel battery set up and drop down to 1 smaller 12 volt. Thanks for any info.
So are you saying a regular alternator won't work for those? School me cause I was thinking about looking at one.I went with a Braille i35. Lithium ion phosphorous battery. 9.75 pounds. But....don't forget their special charger thats required. They have a lower aH rating but apparently that is different than a lead acid battery. Are you running an alternator?
At the track last weekend so.eone mentioned they have 2 Walmart power sports agms that give them 1400 amps at start. And they are smaller and lighter. Again, requires the.proper charging system.

I went with a 1 16 volt. Best decision I ever made. My engine has high compression at 16.24 with no issues with hot starts.
Are you running an alt? I assume that would require a 16 volt alt? I'm thinking this is the way to go do to having high compression and electric fans , fuel, water pump etc. and with the timing be locked.I went with a 1 16 volt. Best decision I ever made. Do they make them for people? Those Transpo adjustable regulators are great , I have been using them for years .
