The only and I mean ONLY reason I'm doing it is because I'm rebuilding these control arms to swap out. Were it not for the fact Vixen's front end needs rebuilding, it wouldn't be gettin done. lol

I'm sure a lot of yall saw my question regarding the 14x7 reverse wheels with 245 60 14s on them I was going to look at. All I can say is thank you @RV2 for the great deal. They FIT! I would never have believed it. It is really tight on the driver's side, but that's ok, because that's the side I have been working on repairing the rust in the outer wheelhouse and the quarter around the wheel house. All I need to do is jack that side out a little with the port a power to match the passenger's side and it will be fine. I'll be saving up for some 205 70 14s for the front, as they are almost identical in height to the 245 60s. Check it out. Vixen got some big meats.
I think the chrome reverse in SBP I had were only 6.5"?? Sold 2 & still have 2, + a pair in LBP, I think those are 7".

Yeah. They are 7s. I'd never thought they'd fit but they do. He said they were made by Stockton wheel. Kinda sad they aren't around anymore. That company was over 100 years old. Started out makin wagon wheels.

That looks good! I didn't go back any pages to look...is that with the 9" you fixed or the stock 7.25? I plan on using 245's on the rear of my 65 Barracuda, which is the same thing with a terrarium plopped on the back, lol.
Yes, it's still the 7.25 for now. .....a long with my wore out clutch. LOL
I didn't look at the date codes, but they are old. You can just tell. Tread almost NEW. ZERO sidewall cracks or even checks. They look GOOD. But, on the way back from town, I felt it wobblin in the back. lol Well, it was fun while it lasted! LOL

It was getting worse and worse, too. It was comin apart. No worry's. I got my money's worth with just the wheels. I'm good with it. I'll get some more tires eventually.
Yep, I put brand new skinny tires on the front, my tire did the same last spring, but they was old too

Glad you made it home intact. I don't give a tire more than 10 years no matter what tread is left. One of the reasons to thin the herd here, it is expensive to maintian a fleet.
I had one come apart at Cruizin the Coast a couple of years ago and put my spare on that had never been on the ground on the right front. On my way home running about 75 or 80 mph in my 67 GTS 499" I felt it and got slowed down to about 50mph before i blew. Not fun for a few seconds but I got it off the road with out losing it. I was passing 18 wheelers when it started so lucky to not cause a big mess. I looked at date and tire was 22 years old. Looks like you were lucky too, Joe
Yeah. I shouldn't have tried it, but I was hoping. They have 2001 date codes. LMAO. But in my defense, they both have ZERO cracks ANYWHERE and the tread was literally worn only 1/32. It's a shame, really. This is just more proof to me that the industry has figured out how to make everything last just to or beyond the warranty period. I remember tires lasting 20-25 years or more when I was young. Were they safe? Probably not, but they LASTED.

Yes I am, actually. I have QA1 upper arms and I have my lowers already rebuilt with @BergmanAutoCraft delrin bushings and pivot pins.
In my experience, lasting that long or longer has been more prevalent in bias ply than radials, but I've seen radials last that long and longer and I can give an example. Remember the 1980s Mazda trucks? Great little trucks and they used Bridgestone tires. Those tires were notorious for having an almost cement hard tread compound. Lots of people swapped them out because of road noise and ride harshness. But those that left them on got extraordinary mileage out of them. I remember when I was young working at a local tire shop guys would come in shakin their heads sayin "well, they been on here 12 years so I guess I better get some more"......and there STILL be over half the tread left. Michelin tires from that same era were similar. The tread would outlast the tire carcass.

I also have QA1 upper arms on mine now they are nice parts. I have new sitting in boxes the Bergman delrin bushings and pins, QA1 adjustable strut rods, and those plates to weld on. But since my current bushings are still in good shape haven't gotten around to putting the new lower control arm parts on yet. Looking forward to hearing how your new setup works for you.
