The springs on my trunk lid have become very weak and I got fed up with it dropping on my head now and again!!! So I decided to see if a gas strut would work to help hold it up. I installed a 24 lb gas strut on one side and it worked great. Not the easiest place to work in, but problem solved!!!!

Going backwards again!!! Since I have a Holley fuel level sender (for the fuel injection tank) I bought a MeterMatch module to calibrate the sender to the fuel gauge. I've been adding fuel in small measured amounts and adjusting the module to ensure the gauge was close to actual fuel quantity (not fuel level).
Got the tank filled to full capacity and then saw a drip drip from the rubber grommet where the filler tube enters the tank!!!! Grrrr.
Now will have to drain the tank, remove it and find out why it is leaking there.

I've been doing some research before I drain the fuel tank to see why it is leaking. I was really ticked when a brand new grommet seal leaked!! However I think it was my screwup. I'm pretty sure I installed p/n 3404182 which I thought was an "improved design", but in reality it is not correct for a '69 Cuda!!! (It is correct for a '70 B Body and 70-74 E Body) I should have got p/n 2880481. The groove diameter where it seals with the tank opening is significantly different between the 2 grommets. The tank opening (from 2 old tanks) measured ~2.27" and ~2.3".
I ordered a 2880481 repro, which turned out to be a made in China part. Not surprised. Dimensions don't seem to be correct. Made from a shiny plasticy material. Will not use it.
I'm going to get one from DMT, which is probably a far better quality with correct dimensions. Mopar A Body 67-76, B Body 64-69, 71-74 B Fuel Gas Tank Grommet 2203472 2880481
Unfortunatly, DMT does not ship to Canada, so will have to drive to my shipping depot in Port Huron to get it.
