I have this block and Callies 3.58” crank with Callies compstar H beam rods sitting there begging to be put together.

Might end up in my wagon? There has been some brain activity on making my wagon a sleeper.

Standard deck height?
Anything in particular about the block making it odd or special?

Whatcha got for heads?

yes standard deck height. 340 replacement block. same as a R block but from what i have read, they can handle more power then the R block (750 hp for the R and 1000 hp with the replacement block). don't know if it's true or not.

i really want to try a set of Bloomer heads. if not i will put on a set of W9's

9.5:1, 4.100 bore, 3.58 stroke with a couple spinning mufflers under the hood and a full exhaust. All on e85 with a Holley dominator. And a T56!! Leave the wagon exactly as it is. Except for drivetrain and safety. Winner winner chicken dinner.

now that is a dream i wish i could do. i have zero experience with ''spinning mufflers'' but i do like the way you think!

You have questions? I have answers my friend. If you want to explore the turbo world I’ll be right here to nudge you along (Aka spend your money).

I’ll tell you the same thing I tell everyone else. Don’t do it. If you do every vehicle you own will be pressurized from now on. It’s so addicting. I have a problem.

i want to feel the massive pull at the top end that a boosted engine has. my car pulls hard but not like a boosted car.
nice car !!
thank you, it's a factory 360 car

How heavy is that block, like 350lbs?? All that extra material around the lifter bores... the china wall is really thick too. Yeah, added strength yada yada but there's a point where it's overkill.

What cam does it take Babbit or roller i have a 427 R3 48 degree 9.6 deck with Victor heads the Babbit cam is really hard to come by had to have 1 made locally

I don’t know any exact HP forgives for anything because I consider it a floating and highly variable question and particular build kind of answer.

I’d use what I have on the shelf head wise if do-able.

I may very well hit you up one day to “Advise me” on how to spend my money. I have a siamese short 9.2 deck….
Muha ha ha ha ha ha
Not sure the source of this info or if it’s correct.

I see that “Support 1,000hp” as a NA number since pressurizing an engine is easy on parts and power production.

The only thing I know about that resto block is the thin walls in the valley are not thick enough to grind away for a roller cam lifter set up.

There was a fella here that found out the hard way. A very nice fella I had the pleasure to meet once. His story is here somewhere. Very buried I’m sure. Kory I think his name was. Not sure anymore.

Are you still building yours or has it been running a while? I remember you posting before about this and it is one of the very few I have seen with the Victor heads.
