What y'all doing with your battery switches? Any holes in the bumper or tail light lens won't work for me, so let's see your creativity please.

I'm wondering if a push/pull lever might work between the truck lid and bumper...

Thru the reverse light lense on my 68 , I just added the Mopar “ M “ last year after having a “ T “ handle for many years

What's the intended purpose? If it's a street car, you can put it anywhere. Hide it in the interior, for example. Street/strip, then it has to be accessible from the rear.

I wish I’d a done the “push/pull” switch. I have a couple friends that have also added a Morse cable and can go on/off from in car.

When the battery was upfront I had a switch on the battery tray, just to shut everything off when parked. Since I decided to move the battery to the trunk, and I may see the track a few times per year, I want to be legal.

I believe it's a NHRA requirement / rule that if the battery is in the trunk a shut off switch in the rear is required ... my track does random checks to make sure they work properly , they also check neutral safety switches . The NHRA rulebook is available online via the NHRA website if you have any further questions

That's a good idea but it wouldn't surprise me if a cop looking to write tickets would give you one for obstructing the numbers on the plate , sounds crazy but you never know ! around here they write tickets for having the plastic covers over your plate.
The car doesn't see much use on the street. I have been surprised that none of the tech guys at the track have complained because I don't have the on & off labels.

I have mine in the car hid out like @RustyRatRod suggest, but, if I qualify to race at No Name I don't think a 9.0 1/8 mile car has to have one

Good point ! depends on the track and how thorough the tech inspectors check , I know my local track is pretty stringent

I have a push-pull switch mounted under the car on the passenger side, the handle sticks out about 2.5-3" past the bottom of the rear bumper.
I do not run tailpipes though. I could not make myself drill into the body, bumper, or taillight.

Tough on the rear of a 67-69 Dart.

Might be able to sneak a push rod out just below the taillights in that thin body panel area.

Just mount the battery in a big steel box with light weight cut outs on top of the quarter panel, then you can show everyone your battery...it's cutting edge design.
Form meets function lol

That's a clean location on that body style. Have you ever been questioned about having the 'off' be on the pull side?

Only been through tech once with it (at Pomona) and never got questioned. Wasn’t a small event but I will say tech was certainly not super strict that day. Time will tell.

Flip the cutoff to the other side of the bracket or flip the bracket and you have a push "off" deal. Looks like you have plenty of cable to get that done.

Surprised you haven't gotten grief over that. If it backs into a wall, does opposite of intended.

Get some tunnel ram linkage out and Rube Goldberg that thing... :)

It’s been on my list of things to update/fix. Upcoming surgery so I only work on stuff I have to fix or if a buddy needs a hand.

Are you dead set on a push pull setup?
If not a simple "L" bracket below the bumper mounted to the rear frame tie metal bulkhead panel with grommeted wires running through the trunk floor is how I have done mine. But it is on a flip / twist switch.

Be sure it completley turns off Alt/ Ign and Fuel pump. If you wire it halfassed it just disconnects your battery + from the system and the car still runs on alternator and does not shut anything off/ or stop your engine.
