Roll Call: Spring Fling XXII Van Nuys Ca May 3&4, 2008 w/updates & pics

Yes it was a sad thing that happened between us ..... But my thanks go out to him for all his help with the Dart .....

Yeah, a red Duster convoy would've been sweet.

Well, almost.

Mine is a mix of Hugger orange (gasp!!) and hemi orange with some black chips thrown in. Its a dark orange when you see it in person, but under the right light, it almost looks reddish orange. At cruise nights on Fridays, the girls are always saying I love the "red" plymouth.

Damn right:toothy10:

Here's what I'm bringing.
Spent all weekend getting it ready, should I enter it in judged class?

I'd put it in the In-Progress class.

And show that picture I took of it coming in the Spring Fling gate exactly to the date one year before. So then show dated progress pictures over one years time from last show. Put them in the binder or staple them to piece of plywood.

I have that picture in higher res. It's out of focus, but I bet you could put some of your artistic magic to it.

Displays are sometimes really cool.

Here's a great display from Spring Fling 2004 by Bob Gough. Bob has won many trophies in his 67 383 "S". But he just completed driving rally the day before with legendary Scott Harvey. Scott Harvey is a retired Chrysler Engineer, father of the Formula "S", and Barracuda Trans Am driver. Scott is Mr A-body. He even constructed and ran a Twin turbo'd W-2 motored 4 wheel drive Duster at Pikes Peaks.

This is a great read for A-body enthueist here. And this is all written in Bob's handwriting.

Great read, Steve.

That reminds me of my car: driven hard and regularly and small progression over time.

You and your notchback are a great example. That 340 is still kicken after all of these years.

We will definitely be out at the Spring Fling show in Van Nuys May 3-4th. Stop in and check out our display. Thanks.

Also for A-body fans, the orange 71 340 Demon super survivor that was in all the magazines will be on hand too. A great reference for restoration information. Take lots of detailed pictures.

Hopefully I'll be there.
The Dustdevil broke down Wednesday night, AND this morning.
I guess she's just self concious and wants to get all the bad parts out of her system before Spring Fling.

Oh wow.
Did I just refer to my car as a she?!

Must be because it's being temperamental. :-D

Well I'm taking the Duster to my bro in law's shop tommorow morn to do some work on the front end, so fingers crossed she'll be there. We are gonna try & take the Dart we just got for my Daughter also.

5 days to go, boys!!!!

Anymore takers that have not informed us for the Friday cruise from Woodley Park?

Let us know, so we can have a good understanding of how many to wait for at the park on Friday morning.

hahaha, right after I fixed the Duster, it broke down again by throwing its belts.
At the rate I'm going, I'm guessing catastrophic engine failure before the weekend.

Nah, you will be fine.

If its just belts, you will be ok. Which ones did it throw and how did it happen?
