mopars are still out in the weeds!

If it is a Hemi engine in that -68 Cuda, I can´t belieave that it is sitting out in the open.

Mattsmopar, do any of these cars have solid rear halves? I'm looking to get a parts car, prefer 70-71 Duster/Demon for the rear 1/4 and part of the lower rocker at the rear of the door. When I get around to re-restoring my Demon I want to use a factory 1/4 instead of the aftermarket one that's on the left side now. Those cars look pretty good. Where do you live? Are they for sale?
This is an example of one I'm curious about.

GTS340- That red duster twister is in a junk yard in tellico plains,TN. They have a couple 70-71 340 dusters, a 73 dart sport 340 car, and a 73 duster 340. A several other darts, dusters, and 1 demon. They will sell basically anything off the cars, but most have been well picked over the years. I was in there on this saturday, and they were cutting some trees and underbrush to get a car out they had sold complete. They are also very grown up around, and some have alot of rust issues. Not saying that all of them do , but i would want to look at them very close. The first pictures that i posted are of a personal junk yard that a friend of mine has been putting together for several years. He does not sell much, but he has not built anything in several years either. I think most of his stuff will set and ruin.

Looks like a lot of these could be saved one way or another I'm just sick!

also what is that older blue car looks to be 1936,,???any thin on that salavageable?

I had put a 72 340 in my 78 Volare. My 78 Volare had an interior fire. It sat behind the garage for about 10 years and I pulled motor/trans/rear for a future project. Upon tearing it down, I found a mouse nest in the valley pan. The only thing I can think of is that they came in thru the exhaust into the heads. I have no idea how they got into the valley pan. After the engine has been setting for several years, it sould be opened up and checked. If you don't, watch your oil pressure like a hawk that hasn't eat for a month. I still have the 72 340 and have it bored .0300 with new Ross .514 gram pistons for my 69 Dart.
What I'm trying to say is that you can't trust the critters. They will get where you don't think they can't. Can you figure out how the mice got into the lifter galley. I would love to know.

i have made no progress on the demon, due to other cars i have that need more attention because we drive them everday. and having a 1 stall garage sucks, just made a major job change and money is tight right now. the demon is outside under tarps and a car cover. i'll post later what i'm now driving.:munky2:

the gold car that i have posted on here already as a parts car has now become my daily driver, after my other car had failed me. i stripped out the car, power washed the inside and out. installed house carpet, bought cheapy seat covers from wal-mart filled the major rust with some metal but mostly. "GREAT STUFF" shaved it down and put bondo over it and sanded to look halfway presentable. then put on some wheels and a punisher skull to top it off. this is one sweet slant 6 car. but i'm scared to get into a wreak with it. foam doesn't hold up as well as metal. the wierd part is that the hood, trunk, and doors are rust free. but whatever here are some pics. not bad for 2 days of work, and i get 20mpg. the flat black hides ALOT. the average person thinks that it's so cool because it's rust free... fools!!!!

I took this picture the other day ... this car is less than 4 miles from my house. He will not sell it no matter what!

I've been watching this car slowly go into the ground since I was around 14 I'm 38 now.

I think it is a 69 Road Runner.

Doesn`t that make you wonder about the mindset of people like that?

I ran across a green 69 runner up in Walhalla about 8 year ago. I had trees growing between the bumper and body. 383, 4sp, bench seat, air grabber hood. All parts were there, original owner. Another, "I'm gonna fix it up some day" stories. Man I was pissed! that thing is probably still there..?

He is a old black man.. heck he was old when I was 14 LOL!

His house is over on the left of the car and there is a fire station over on the right of the car. You can see corner of the roof in the picture. His son was one day going to fix that car back up for his dad from my understanding but never had the time and so forth. The son was a volunteer fireman at the station... he left one day to drive the tanker to a fire... he over corrected the tanker or something but the water switched side with such great force that it flipped the truck over on the drivers side. Unfortunately the son fell out the window and was crushed by the tanker.

I'll tell you what....I'll steal this one.... you steal the one you know about and then we'll combine the two and have a nice car! :-D

Wow Mullinax, that`s one helluva story, but all the more reason for this guy to sell the car to someone who will do it justice before it becomes one with the earth/Earth. I`ve been trying for several years to land a 69 Formula-S car that`s a couple miles from me here and again the owner is "going to fix it up one day" with his brother. Meanwhile not one thing has been done with the car in years and it`s just rotting away. I suggested years ago that he cover the car and he hasn`t. I just don`t get it??????

Looking at all thease cars just make me sick.I can't believe all the 340 cars in these pictures.I have found alot of Mopars in yards over the years. My two best finds a 1969 1/2 440 6 pack Super Bee with 20,000 original miles on it.Found it in 1983.And a 1970 440 six pack 1970 Super Bee 35,000 original miles.Found it in 1996.Neither owner would not sell.
My three best scores A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner with 356 Original miles. It was wrecked when it was 3 days old sat in a barn until 1989.I bought it for $650.00 sold it for $1300.00 a few months later.I actually found the car again last summer in MO. The car is still not fixed and the car is pretty much ruined some dummy let it sit outside. My 1968 Dodge Dart 383 GTS 36,000 mile Ex Drag car.I found it in 2001 bugged the guy until I bought it for $7500.00 in 2005 And a 1967 Dodge Coronet 440 2 door 318 car nearly rustfree.Bought it in 1992 for $200.00 sold it at the Mopar Nats. in 1993 for $1500.00.

I could probably still find that thing if I had to!!!!!!

I bet the bank that it is still sitting exactly where you saw it!! LOL!
