What is the widest rim/tire combo that could be tucked in the rear wheelwell of a 70 Dart Swinger that has been minitubbed and the springs moved inboard? Will also be using a Caltrac package with monoleaf. I will need as much tire as I can fit.

not talking about a strict drag slick either.Something street "legal" so I can drive it on the weekends.

What backspacing, rim width and tire width will I need?

thanks guys!
Paul

I am doing full tubs on my dart. Cutting back to the frame rails I can fit a 325/60/15 BFG drag radial mounted on a 12" rim in there with about 1" on each side. I am in the process of narrowing the rear to make it work.

This all depends on if you are planning to put Golf Clubs, Cooler, luggage, wife and kids in the back for vacation somewhere.:-D

I really dont think narrowing the rear will be necessary, and mini tubbing should be enough. So I really need to know i what I can fit with that combo.I think Caltracs and a sticky tire with a spring relocation should be enough

Im got 15x10s with 7in back spacing Weld wheels and mounted 30x10 tires, i just finished the ladder bar set up and i need to cut out the stock wheel wells, THEN ill see if they fit, im sure they will. and this is being done without touching the rearend width, its in a 73Dart

67 Barracuda.

stock A body rear end not narrowed.
Mini tubbed.
Weld draglites 15x10. back space is 7.5 inches.
Tires are 29x12.5x15.

1/2" clearance on either side of tire (perfect), and did not have to shave the wheel lip.

BUT, The forward portion of the wheel opening is massaged 1.5 inches for taller tire.

What kind of wheels are those, they are pretty sharp?

They are American Racing Trakstar wheels. Got a really good deal on them and now I just have to find some matching front skinnies for under $300 each.
Love, Love, Love the 67 notchback. Nice car. Wow!
