So here's the layout, my dad owns a row of 7 small warehouses, rents out 5 and half of one, we work in the last one and have the back half of the 6th for storage. This entire row "Gasoline Alley" is full of car guys, us and one other mopar guy, a couple bowtie guys and a ford nut. One of the chevy guys likes to run his mouth, he's got an 80's camaro with a 350, big cam, 5spd, etc which he swears for the last two years now will kick my Duster's ***, okay I don't consider my car fast at mid-high 13's, but for kicks everytime we go to the track we invite him, I should out run him, I got mean lights. It's always the same story, can't go cause of this or that or the cars not right or oh I don't have tires. . . Fine then STFU! About a year ago he starts building this tubbed big block 84 monte and built his ego and jaw muscles at the same time! It's got an iron headed 468 with 11:1s and a frickin 16.5 slick under it, its got way more tubing then it needs, ladder bars and a 9". it's also got full interior and he has plans of a sound system. . . in his "race car" wtf. So last night we've got our low 10 second 71 Dart drag car fired up to turn it around and back it into the shop, guess who comes walking down the driveway, the mouth. Right away it's Oh when I finish mine we'll have to go to the track, I should run right with this thing, it'll be good. This is where my old man loses it, "you've never been down a fu*#in drag strip, you've tried to play around on the street in your small fry camaro, your so called drag car would be lucky to get into the 11's" he tries to argue and defend himself but it's pointless "don't come back here with your mouth, bring your car and meet me at the track, bring cash too if you'd like kid, if your feelin froggy JUMP!" he tells us he's got his car running now, "great wanna get walked?" we go listen to it, well, anythings loud on open exhaust. Sorry for the length, had to rant a little, can't wait til we go to the track and "The Mouth" finally brings it. feel free to comment folks :toothy10:

Even as a Chevy racer, a BBC Monte doesn't impress me & big tires just means a small weinie, IMO. Don't know what you're runnin' but even a healthy small-block in an A-body should give the Monte something to aim for. 468? in an all steel car? Unless he's runnin a ton of nitrousit's MAYBE a 10.80 car--and that's if he knows how to drive it. Do the usual street racin' thing--lure him in then blow-by him for the big bucks!

Reminds me of a choda boy that lived next door to my mothers house back ten years ago. Kid had a 67 Nova with a built 350. He would lay rubber up and down the street all day long. He talked a lot of **** about how Mopars sucked. I offered to let him race my buddies 70 Duster, built 318. He laughed but once he saw that car and heard it, stopped talking so much smack. One day he got to run it outside of town and I never heard another word from him. Must have sucked to be slaughtered by a 318 Duster.

I hav the same thing with the powerstroke and Dmax guys, picking on my old cummins..........
It's just how some people react to their own jealousy.

Yea, kick his *** and video it for us will ya.

Big mouth little boys .... nothin new.

My motto has always been"walk softly and carry A BIG FREAKIN STICK!"lol...Thats why Im going caltracs, not tubbing my car and restricting rear tires to 10.5 in width. Kinda the sneaky pete approach without the nos.

But when I open up the throttle,Im gonna open an xtra large can of chevie whup ***! A 451/470 with aluminum max wedge heads will bring him to his senses..

Kick his dumb ***!

If your dad owns the storage, kick his *** out and be done with it! Seriously, I'm sure you can find a replacement tenant. My neighbor and his son are Chevy guys, but love my Dart, come to me when he has a question on the 3 Fords they own and it's all cool, the way it should be amongst car guys. They wanna see my Dart on the road more than their own cars!

Does by chance this guy wear a black windbreaker with "corvette" on the back, have a gray beard, rock a gold chain, and silver aviator sunglasses? I'm working on a "Profile"

Just hand him his *** and frame the time slip for him to hang in his, I mean your garage you rent to him.

brings back memories of high school, 72 chebelle clapped out 307, 3/4 race cam (whatever that is), torker, 850 dp, blackjacks with cherry bombs, no stall and or gears. they all were gonna wup on my buddies high 10 second 440 cuda that was his street car. despite the constant invite to meet at the dragstrip not one of them ever showed up......my other buddy that had a mid 9 second small block 66 nova used to call them garbage barges because of the way they sounded.

Why are chevy guys like that? I go through this at work with a fellow mechanic." Why did you buy a damn Chrysler car?" he replies. He has a built 80 Camaro that he keeps breaking. Another mechanic is a Ford guy and has a 72 Grabber Maverick. He does not give me any grief about my car. He respects all makes like I do. If it's old and looks good, I like it.

One thing I've noticed thus far in life, is those who can actually bring it never brag or uptalk about how they can.

My Buddy Used to say "Nothing wrong with Chevys, they make a Good Grenade!" :bootysha: D

take him down bro! good for your dad man! i bet that guy was soo shocked when he said that...and please video it...any video or pics of your dads car? id be interested to see! i know what you mean about guys talking smack...i get it all the time from the import guys around me, so when are we gonna run your slow junk? they dont understand that they will shudder back into their little holes when it comes time to "race" and they so much as hear the car idle....

Reminds me when I had the 273 in my Dart when I was 19, and the Nova guys with their 350's would star jawin and revvin at the lights! The only thing they learned quickly was what the back end of a 67 Dart looked like! Remind the guy that the only good thing Chevy has ever built is the trucks!

I think the ricers are far worse than any Chevy guy. You want to talk about good entertainment? What in the hell is reving to the rev-limiter all about? Am I missing something? I was pumping gas in the Duster one day and a Honduh went by, saw me and reved his engine to the limiter. I just died laughing cause it took about as long for his engine to reach the limiter as it does to reach 0 to 60. Faaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrr-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t.

Man do not even get me started on those little noise making hondas and Toyotas. Sure some have some speed, my friend has a 300Z, but like I always tell him...would you rather drive a car that sounds like a high speed sewing machine going no where, or a car that sounds like a pitbull with balls looking for a brawl! Ho has no comment!

Kick his butt for all of us and film it and tell him you are posting it to the internet LOL

show him MOPAR RULES the 1/4 mile, maybe he will build a Mopar next time if he wants to win

It is so funny that most of these turds(here anyway)think that there little N/A 1.8 and 2.0's will break the sound barrier. There are however a few at the strip that will run in the 10's in the 1/4. But they have a but load of money in there car. Their cars are not all riced out either. I have more respect for the tuners than the ricers.

Well guys here's the car that's "a pretty even match" for a tubbed full steel iron headed BBC monte. . . if we take a couple plug wires off. Yea I know it's an auction site, right now we could kinda use the money more than the car and it's cost per weekend but the way things are if it doesn't bring what we want we will take it home, set it on KILL and wait for a cheby to get a converter and a driveshaft, then an *** whippin

just noticed they screwed up, it obviously is more than 12k to build the car, building the motor cost about 12k when said and done, that's gona help us out a lot. . . ugh

Someone mentioned my dad is their hero, LOL yea he's pretty awesome wrestling meets in high school were always fun, I'd be on the mat nervous about wrestling up a weight class or two and I'd hear my dad's voice "Don't worry bout the weight Dylan, he's just a big *****" or one that made me laugh and got pops booted was when I got a reversal and a pin and I heard "that a boy f*ck em up"

You hit it right on the head with 90% of the rice, a few weeks ago I absolutely slaughtered some 4dr acura with "honda's big motor" and a turbo kit his freinds told me was like $6K. . . wow got him by like 8 cars, went from a 20mph roll because no ricer hooks from a dig and got him by like 6 even tho I flashed the converter and broke lose when we jumped on it. There's a few I won't mess with tho a couple buddies have a 10.70 street car Talon AWD and another has a mid 11 talon with a pile of stock parts, yikes.
