OK... let's play a game. Suppose you found Mr. Peabody's way-back machine and could dial it back to, say.... 1968 or whatever year you decide. You have coin in pocket and your walking into your local Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler/Imperial dealership. Your about to buy your dream car.

What would you buy? And remember, those Hurst Hemi Darts & Barracuda's weren't exactly any easier to buy when they were new either. Normal production cars. No 6 Bbl.'s in A bodies.... No Mod Top or High-Impact color `67 Dart's.... Straight-up production models, optioned as you please for that model year. And no 999 paint codes just to keep standard production colors going.

Go for it gang...... 8)

I would have bought a 1968 Dodge Charger r/t, Black, Black vinyl top, matte black stripes, black bucket interior, 426 Hemi, 4 speed, 3.54 Dana 60.

yeahhh....

With todays money, 2009's ITR could have paid for it in cash.

EDIT:
Here it is, 1968 R/T, 426 Hemi, 4 speed, black, black vinyl, NO stripe
68chargerRT.jpg

so...it does exist, if not by numbers, then just by presence....ahh Dreams.

Well, if I can't have a '70 AAR, then I'll just settle for my '73 new. LOL!

1971 TX9 PLYMOUTH NUMBERS MATCHING BLACK ON BLACK 'CUDA V or BS23R1 CODE 4-SPD

And while we are dreaming I want a hot blonde in mid 20s with no attitude too. :-D

1970 Hemi 'Cuda. 4 speed. Super Track Pack. Black leather buckets, console, black shaker scoop & hockey stick stripes. Moulin Rouge, no vinyl top. Maybe AC (was it available with the hemi?). Colored bumpers (can't remember what they called that stuff they were covered with). Steel wheels. Might as well have hood pins to make it easy to lock the engine compartment. I think that covers the important stuff.

I like the way you think Prine.

I'd also go for a panther pink 70 Challenger T/A and a vitamin C 70 Road Runner.

For 68 a factory race hemi cuda. But if I could go to 1970,I think you said I could,a hemi challenger, auto. Haha I would have been old enough to drive em too.:-D Thanks Fb340,I like dreamin.8)

Just a 70 AAR Cuda- 4sp- plum crazy. That would be just fine.

A Notchback Barracuda, 383 4 speed, F8 green, bench seat.

A white 68 Coronet, 440 4 speed.

A black on black 70 Roadrunner, any option with a big block.

What you think?

I would go to Grand Spaulding Dodge in 68 and buy one of the 68 440 M code GSS Darts that were exclusive to his dealership. I would get it in black, with a white longitudinal stripe, simulated mag wheel covers and a gold interior. They were all automatic...

If not an A-body, I would probably wait a couple of years and order a 70 Challenger T/A from GSD and have them work it over with a bunch of over the counter speed goodies. I think I would get white with a blue interior, 4 speed ofcourse with no console.

I was able to do that...and it is still in my garage ! 1970 Swinger 340,4 speed, Go mango and black. Slightly over 30,000 miles now and all original even down to the polyglass tires.

1970 Dodge Super Bee. 426 Hemi, 4 speed, 3.55 Sure Grip 8-3/4" rear end. Hemi orange paint, Black Vynil Roof, Black c-stripes, Black interior with buckets and console, Rallye Dash.

Probably a 69 Dodge charger R/T with a 426 hemi black with bucket seats! Otherwise a 1973 Dodge Charger Rallye with a 440, bucket seats, black, and maybe the 4 speed manual! Oh and a white power stripe thingy around the rear end of the car.
